The German Armed Corps - the Panzerwaffe - was instrumental in the lightning conquests of the Nazis between 1939 and 1942, and in the remaining years of the war it provided the very backbone of Germany's defence. The committment of the officers and men of this elite force made an enormous impact on World War II, particularly on the Eastern front. The titanic struggles which took place there after the early victories in Poland, the West and the Balkans demonstrated the German tank soldier's superior tactical abilities. This account tells the story of this band of soldiers, the evolution of their tactics and the development of their superlative fighting vehicles.

The story about the young German pilots of the First World War, some of who became household names for both the German population and to many of those they pitted their skills against. Their photographs appeared on "Sanke" postcards which were sold to the public giving them a film star-like status. Many of the pilots who rose to national and international fame became increasingly bitter and disillusioned at the growing ineptitude of their generals. They continued to fall in combat; the legendary Red Baron, Manfred von Richthofen, was shot down and killed at only 25 years old. A small number of these "Knights" survived the war. Some were to die between the wars by murder, revolution or accident. Others were to fight again during the Second World War for the Third Reich, among them the notorious Hermann Goering.

The Knights of the Black Cross were a mixed bunch of creatures, shifters and now a spectacular human. Well, almost. A lady who was once all human. Now a mix-a half-ling. A name which had stuck, even if the creature she was becoming did not appreciate it. Yet, they said it with nothing other than love. Because her mate and his friends alike loved her. They saw her growing to shine. Becoming so much more than any of them expected, but everyone was different. And only time could tell what she would fully become and be capable of. Time, which was possibly not on their side. It enveloped minds and thoughts as a collective considering-what? Life had changed not only for her, but for them all. What was to happen next? None knew, but all felt it. Especially, Xavion. He looked at her, his lover. She seemed so frail, or so he imagined. Not fully aware of what she was and what she would become. His heart burst with love for her. Thoughts that he could lose something so special were unimaginable. His father had kept his treasured soul but him. Would he? Because he had no intention of losing her, if it meant making her a prisoner of hell. He would. Because he would not lose her, not now-or never. Nonetheless, all knew things were about to change. Yet, what was going to change? And would Death be forced to play a part? Fated Mates striving to save not only themselves. An epic battle to be fought by the few to save, one. Rivitingly dangerous. Even Demons fall in love. Content & advisory for series. Dark graphic content. *Triggers* Violence, violence towards women, sexual violence, assault, abuse.

Erwin Rommel was the outstanding Axis field commander of the Second World War, respected, even admired, by his opponents. Here it seemed to the Allies, was a supremely professional soldier: chivalrous, decent, largely untainted by the crimes of the Nazi regime, carrying out his duty with often dazzling success. David Fraser's definitive study brings to Rommel's career not only the insights of an acclaimed biographer, but also those of a distinguished soldier. He shows how inspiringly spontaneous and superficially haphazard Rommel's style of leadership could be; how his hallmarks of boldness of manoeuvre, ferocity in attack and tenacity in pursuit, which characterised his great campaign in North Africa, were evident from his earliest battles in the First World War. Knight's Cross is first and foremost hte biography of a soldier, but Rommel reached a position in which he almost inevitably became embroiled in politics, including his alleged involvement in the plot to kill Hitler, which condemned him in the eyes of the Fuhrer he had served so loyally. Rommel is not, to David Fraser, a flawless hero: his failing as well as his genuis are recorded here. But he had that instinct for battle and leadership which set him apart from contemporaries, and places him among the truly great commanders of history.
