La imaginación sustrae las imágenes de su creación, el pintor le da vida a sus lienzos a través de sus colores del Arcoíris, el escultor a sus obras les da vida, y el poeta se inspira en sus versos, mas yo, El Pensador, mi musa ha sido una flor que en el bosque me encontré en pleno invierno. Y le pregunté ¿quién eres flor del bosque que sin primavera naces? Tus pétalos, cual sol radiante, ciegan mis ojos al verte. This work is in honor to which honor is due to all poets and poetesses; and that poetry is the voice of the heart in love and that the legacies of their works live on. The imagination brings out the images of its creation, the artists breathes life into their paintings through their colors of the Rainbows, the sculptors to their works gives them life, and the poets inspired by their poems. But I, “The Thinker,” my muse has been a flower in the forest that I found in the height of winter. The petals were like sunshine that blinded my eyes. But yet, flowers only flourish in the height of spring. And I asked who are you forest flower, and how is it possible you have flourish in the height of winter? As I await my dear readers, my poems and legends of love poetry and love in the air keeps on blowing like the wind and that each verse keeps your heart pumping. This is simply me, the poet of love and spreading in each note the perfume of love. This legend of love in poetry is the mouth of the soul that speaks as in the “The Legend of the Forest Flower.” In hopes that “The Legend of the Forest Flower” make history just like The Legend of the White Rose. Second volumes for both books will be coming soon in which love lives on and never dies.

The enormous body of short story anthologies from the nineteen countries of Spanish America and Brazil testifies to their importance for writers, editors, readers, and, especially, for schools and universities, teachers and students. The study of anthologies and their contents can be particularly revealing for many of the questions looming large in critical discourse, particularly those on canon formation and the relations between literature and cultural institutions; but researching this corpus is difficult because it varies greatly in quality, distribution, and format. The present volume for the first time gathers this mass of material and organizes it for systematic study. The main section comprises annotated listings of 1302 short story anthologies: those with stories from all or most of the countries grouped together, including a section of English-language anthologies; those from countries of a region; and those from individual nations. For most entries a full listing of contents is provided along with brief commentary. A second section comprises annotated bibliographies of criticism of the short story, similarly arranged with materials for Latin America as a whole as well as regionally and nationally. The volume ends with four indexes: of authors of the stories; of authors of essays, introductions, and other critical materials; of titles of the critical works; and of themes. An essential tool for scholars working on Latin American narrative, this bibliography will also serve as a practical finding aid for individual writers and stories.

Payments for Environmental Services (PES) are being considered worldwide with great interest and expectation. Proposals to create agreements in which beneficiaries of environmental services pay landowners directly for the provision or protection of these services are innovative and promising. But what real PES experiences are actually out there? This work assesses a range of PES or PES-type experiences in one country, Bolivia, in the fields of carbon sequestration, protection of watershed services, biodiversity and aesthetic landscape values. The report concludes that while none of the generally young initiatives adhere fully to the principle of PES as developed in the theoretical literature, many experiment with some of the relevant PES mechanisms. Protection of watersheds and landscape values are the most common types, though the implementing intermediaries often have underlying biodiversity-protection goals. Main obstacles to PES implementation include ideological resistance against the PES concept, the difficulty of building trust between buyers and sellers, and limited willingness to pay on behalf of service users. During their relatively short lifetime, basically all initiatives had been successful in making service sellers (PES recipients) better off in economic terms, while the effectiveness in achieving environmental objectives and securing positive social impacts so far remained more variable. In some cases, redesigning these initiatives to bring them closer to the full PES principles could also enable them to more effectively achieve positive environmental and livelihood outcomes.
