This book reflects up-to-date research, fundamental theories, and key techniques of of wireless localization technology and error-controlling techniques. It also presents and discusses the issue of localizability, as well as privacy issues associated with LBS. This book encompasses the significant and quickly growing area of wireless localization technology. It presents comprehensive and up-to-date research in both fundamental theories and key techniques of network localization. In addition to localization approaches, it also is the first book to address the issue of localizability. The privacy issue of LBS technology is also discussed.

This book captures the latest results and techniques for cooperative localization and navigation drawn from a broad array of disciplines. It provides the reader with a generic and comprehensive view of modeling, strategies, and state estimation methodologies in that fields. It discusses the most recent research and novel advances in that direction, exploring the design of algorithms and architectures, benefits, and challenging aspects, as well as a potential broad array of disciplines, including wireless communication, indoor localization, robotics, emergency rescue, motion analysis, etc.

Big Data Analytics is on the rise in the last years of the current decade. Data are overwhelming the computation capacity of high performance servers. Cloud, grid, edge and fog computing are a few examples of the current hype. Computational Intelligence offers two faces to deal with the development of models: on the one hand, the crisp approach, which considers for every variable an exact value and, on the other hand, the fuzzy focus, which copes with values between two boundaries. This book presents 114 papers from the 4th International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Data Mining (FSDM 2018), held in Bangkok, Thailand, from 16 to 19 November 2018. All papers were carefully reviewed by program committee members, who took into consideration the breadth and depth of the research topics that fall within the scope of FSDM. The acceptance rate was 32.85% . Offering a state-of-the-art overview of fuzzy systems and data mining, the publication will be of interest to all those whose work involves data science.

This book constitutes revised selected papers from the 16th International Symposium on Algorithms and Experiments for Wireless Sensor Networks, ALGOSENSORS 2020, held in Pisa, Italy*, in September 2020. The 12 full papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 27 submissions. ALGOSENSORS is an international symposium dedicated to the algorithmic aspects of wireless networks. *The conference was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 6th China Conference on Advances in Wireless Sensor Networks, held in Huangshan, China, in October 2012. The 70 revised full papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 458 submissions. The papers cover a wide range of topics including in the wireless sensor network fields nodes systems, infrastructures, communication protocols, and data management.

This book is the second volume on Cooperative Robots and Sensor Networks. The primary objective of this book is to provide an up-to-date reference for cutting-edge studies and research trends related to mobile robots and wireless sensor networks, and in particular for the coupling between them. Indeed, mobile robots and wireless sensor networks have enabled great potentials and a large space for ubiquitous and pervasive applications. Robotics and wireless sensor networks have mostly been considered as separate research fields and little work has investigated the marriage between these two technologies. However, these two technologies share several features, enable common cyber-physical applications and provide complementary support to each other. The book consists of ten chapters, organized into four parts. The first part of the book presents three chapters related to localization of mobile robots using wireless sensor networks. Two chapters presented new solutions based Extended Kalman Filter and Particle Filter for localizing the robots using range measurements with the sensor network. The third chapter presents a survey on mobility-assisted localization techniques in wireless sensor networks. The second part of the book deals with cooperative robots and sensor networks applications. One chapter presents a comprehensive overview of major applications coupling between robots and sensor networks and provides real-world examples of their cooperation. Two other chapters present applications for underwater robots and sensor networks.

This book constitutes the best papers selection from the proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Intelligent Software Methodologies, Tools and Techniques, SoMeT 2014, held in Langkawi, Malaysia, in September 2014. The 27 full papers presented were carefully reviewed, thoroughly revised or enlarged, and selected as best papers from the 79 published proceedings papers, which had originally been selected from 192 submissions.
