Love After Pain

I didn't want to fall in love. Love wasn't included in the plan I had laid out for myself. My plan was simple; go to school, graduate and become the most well-known corporate law attorney on the west coast. I had it all right in the palm of my hand until the day I heard her voice, saw her smile, and fell in love with the most gorgeous set of emerald eyes. Love hits you like a Mac truck and you're done for. Out of nowhere, you meet the person you can't see living your life without. Then an actual Mac truck hits you and rips your love away, taking your life right along with it. One moment she was there, the next I was left with my daughter and my newborn son. My daughter will only know her mother by the memories in her young mind and my son? He will never know her. He will never feel what's it's like to have the love of his mother because she was dead before he took his first breath. My love for my wife was replaced by anger. Anger that this was my life, anger that my children will grow up without her, anger that I asked her to join me the first day I met her, when I should have just sent her away. If I had sent her away, if I had kept to my plan, then she'd still be alive. She would be able to watch her own children grow, but I didn't and now she's gone. They say I'll move on. They say there's love after the pain. They say I'll learn to love again, but I can't. I can't give my heart to someone else when my wife took it with her.

Dear Soul is my journey journal written in conversationalist tone, a very intimate, introspective style of poetry, and it shows the twisted romantic observations of the world, which we have all seen. This book connects to every human because it is based on finding love after pain. Pain is something that is common to each of our stories. Let's be honest-how many of us are still suffering from incidents from our childhood? When we struggle in life, the problem is not the problem. The problem is not having adequate solutions or resources to really move forward from the stresses. As a writer, my style has been dubbed "visionary poetry," and my purpose is to combine observations, poetry, and persuasive logic. My only goal is to cause an intense amount of thought or reflection inside of each reader. I do not put my words together to be "right." Right and wrong are relative and based on a person's perception and experience. It would be egregious of you to tell me that anything I am writing about is wrong, and vice versa. Nothing is wrong; everything in life is all about perception and perspective. The user who will get the most from this book is one who will relate to the topics that are relevant to his or her personal growth. The other user is someone who will step outside of his or her bubble and understand another's struggle. Once you can holistically understand another person's struggle, then you have activated empathy, and I believe that empathy is the most important quality missing from our culture. Once you have a culture of people who understand each other, are comfortable with self, and able to communicate effectively, then you raise the vibration of the entire world with that energy. We sit inside of our bubbles and internalize the pain of everything that happens to us, but we don't align with our struggles or successes. I am genuinely happy when I see people succeed at something they've worked for. I am able to share the joy as if it were my own accomplishment. I am able to feel the pain of a woman who doesn't feel comfortable walking down the street at night alone. No, I have never been a woman, but I have listened to those stories and tried to put myself there. Let's just be honest. This generation does not talk about sex, race, or pain from our childhood. We ignore those topics and we ignore self-love. I never heard the word self-love when I was growing up. As a child, I also didn't hear the word love much. I went on several spiritual journeys in my early twenties to discover the deepest version of self. What I present to you here is a continuation of the journey. I am happy, I am healed, and I am as healthy as I can be. Today, I am sharing a spiritual, emotional, and health journey with you inside of these lines.

Turning Pain into Love is a book about the power of God working through someone to transform their suffering into a lifelong blessing. So often the trials and tribulations of our life can make us feel hopeless and confused about who we are in this world. I believe, with the belief in something greater than ourselves, a positive attitude and the intention to make a difference in the world a person can turn anything into a gift. Anytime someone has been through an experience they now have the ability to help someone else that is going through the experience for the first time. Years ago when I was living in Santa Monica, California I came across a Reader's Digest. As I was flipping through the magazine I saw a quote, "I am not sure what Enlightenment is but I think it has something to do with turning pain into love". That phrase resonated with me and it has stuck with me ever since.

This book was written in response to the escalating number of passion killings in Botswana, Africa. At one point it forced our former president Mr Festus Mogae to tour the country sensitizing the public about the importance of refraining from committing passion killings as it is not a solution to the real problem.Coincidentally the author found himself in an unfortunate situation.If he was not brave enough he could have committed it passion killings himself, thanks to the grace of the almighty.He avoided it and wrote this book to enlighten the world. During that time the author was heavily and beautifully betrayed by someone he considered to be his soul mate of 9 years.After the betrayal he felt like being in another planet so he chose to drink alcohol heavily in an attempt to make himself forget about the issue.He eventually fell ill and hospitalized for 15 days.After his discharge from hospital he went to prison to investigate people who have murdered their partners and attempted to commit suicide and were caught before they could succeed.He then went to a local mental hospital here in Botswana,Lobatse Mental Hospital to interview people who became mentally disturbed due to the betrayals in relationships they were in .Also interviewed were judges,lawyers,pastors,social workers,psychiatrists and the general public.After these interviews he then decided to write this book which is all about the pains people encounter in their relationships which leads other people to commit passion killings.Solutions and counseling for those whose relationships are on the rocks are also availed in this highly important book.The aim of this book is to make people understand things which can distract peace in relationships so that every body can live in peace and harmony thus enjoy the relationship.This once achieved will end an era of passion killings incidents .This is a relationship manual book which every couple must have.
