A World of Fairies is filled with the fairy art of Molly Harrison featuring flower fairies, celestial fairies and more! This is a GRAYSCALE coloring book, which is a fun way to explore coloring. Rather than simple black and white lineart, these images contain all the values ranging from black to white. Marker works well with this type of coloring as does colored pencil. Gel pens might be a bit too opaque to allow the shading to come through so it might be best to limit gel pen use to highlights and accents. Please put a piece of thick paper such as card stock between the pages to prevent any bleedthrough if you use markers. This coloring book is not suitable for wet media, such as watercolor. Feel free to cut the pages out and copy them onto watercolor paper or heavier paper if your printer allows (always check first!). Most of all, have fun and please see Molly's other coloring books!

Fantasy and Fairies - A GRAYSCALE Coloring Book features the fairies, dragons, mermaids and more! This is a GRAYSCALE coloring book. Some of the pages are a bit darker than others. Grayscale coloring is a nice way to bring full scale images to life using your own choice of color. It is not line art like most coloring books but rather it includes all values from black to white and all the shades in between. Some find this type of coloring intimidating but I assure you, once you find the right medium to use, you will really enjoy it. The key to this type of coloring is to use transparent colors mostly - that way the shading comes through. My favorite medium for grayscale coloring is alcohol markers such as Copic markers and others. Artist Loft (Michael's brand) markers work wonderfully as well. Pastel chalks and colored pencils work well with this type of coloring too. I suggest using colored pencils for coloring over dark areas (transparent markers won't work to cover dark grey or black). I would recommend not using crayons or anything too opaque (except for using over dark areas) because it will cover the shading. If you use markers, please put a piece of heavy paper between the pages to prevent bleed through. Also, this coloring book is not suitable for any wet media such as watercolor or watered down paint of any kind. You are free to copy the pages (for personal use ONLY) and print out on watercolor paper or heavier paper if you like so you can try different mediums. The Enchanted Fairy - A Grayscale Coloring Book for Adults features 25 single sided grayscale images of fairies by Molly Harrison. Grayscale coloring is a bit different from black and white line art in that all the shades from black to white are shown. Grayscale coloring can be very fun and it is not difficult! My only recommendation is that you start light and go darker as you progress. It is fun to color over grayscale pictures and it can help you learn how to do your own shading and highlighting. This coloring book is suitable for colored pencils, markers, gel pens, and pastels. It is not really suitable for crayons because they can be too opaque and will cover up the gray values. If you use markers, you will need to put a few pieces of regular paper or a heavy piece of card stock between the pages to prevent bleed through. I have experimented with using markers and colored pencil and adding some sparkle with gel pens. It is definitely not intended for wet media such as watercolor. All ages are welcome but it is intended for adults and older kids.
