Karen had this idea that she would invite some of her friends over, and spend the night at the old forgotten desecrated cemetery in the woods a mile down the country road from her house. The cemetery dates back to the seventeen hundreds with many of the tombstones broken and a sacrificial altar with blood stains on it where many unwilling participants took their last breath. Karen had no idea something evil was left behind at the cemetery that had been lying dormant for centuries. Karen phoned her friends Pam and Cathy to invite them over for a fun night at the cemetery to tell some ghost stories around a fire with lots of drinking. The girls thought it was a cool idea Karen came up with, especially the drinking part. Karen picked out the night, so the forecast would be just right to set the mood for a spooky night at the graveyard. The night finally arrived it was midnight and the girls piled into Karen's car with the music pounding. Karen said "Anyone ready for a beer?" They all said, "Hell yeah!" As the beers were passed around, the girls rolled their windows down and stuck their heads out of the car windows screaming, and gulping down their beers as the cool wind blew against their faces. Pam said, "I think I see the cemetery up ahead."

Minister of Police Joseph Fouché was universally distrusted, feared, and hated in his time, but was nevertheless considered indispensable. In Medusa's Head, Rand Mirante recounts the chameleonic and astonishing career of Napoleon's security chief, who created the modern police state and wielded immense power that threatened the other main organs of government. Fouché was one of the most important, fascinating, and controversial figures of the French Revolution, the First Empire, and the Bourbon Restoration, and this biography captures and unravels the highlights of Fouché's life, including his infamous roles as: A priest-in-training who became a radical Jacobin and de-Christianizer A regicide who cast a dramatic swing vote for Louis XVI's immediate execution The grim and remorseless "Butcher of Lyon" Mastermind of the conspiracy that sent Robespierre to the guillotine The head of Napoleon's police - privy to everyone's secrets, shaping the media, deploying 10,000 informants in Paris alone, and securing funding from the Empire's casinos and brothels Cunning enabler of Napoleon's 1799 coup, and subsequent repeated betrayer of the Emperor Acting president after Waterloo and traitor to France Louis XVIII's Minister of Police, in spite of his responsibility for the death of the King's brother A wealthy but disgraced exile who met an unusual end in Trieste on the Adriatic Medusa's Head provides fresh insights and perspectives on this enormously influential and fearsome individual.

Medusa is perhaps one of the most intriguing characters in all of Mythology. However, she is also the most mysterious. Everyone is aware of her existence, the serpent-headed monster of old, whose very gaze turns all to stone. But, how did she come to that? How did a being of such power meet her end, decapitated by a mortal? Most importantly, what truly makes one a monster?Born to ancient sea gods and, the only mortal of her kind, Medusa was taken from her home at birth. Raised on earth, by a consort of the Gods, she was a product of both worlds yet, belonged to neither. Her beauty became legend in her village and, once her cousins noticed the beautiful young woman she'd become, they invited her to Mount Olympus.Faced with the prospect of attending Panathenia, the birthday celebration of the goddess she worships and admires, Medusa could hardly refuse. At sixteen, she is thrust into the world of Olympus, where decadence abounds, and every desire is fulfilled. Surrounded by those with unlimited power, she felt that anything was possible. Because of her beauty and spirit, she is noticed by more than one God, quickly becomes a favorite and, inevitably, a prize to be won. In the home of the Gods, Medusa finds acceptance, friendships, and love. She also finds herself in the crossfire of rivalries dating back centuries. Fall into a story of love, jealousy and betrayal. Immerse yourself into the world of the Immortals. Follow the journey of one woman's life, where every choice can be the difference between life or death. Experience the anger of the Gods, from which she never survives... or does she?
