MY HOME & MY KITCHEN CORNER is an informal journey through two fundamental aspects of our lives: where we live and what we eat. Home linens designed by myself are mixed with cooking recipes of my own. Alike my novels, they both reflect the idea of universality I cherish and promote since I have been lucky enough to experience a variety of cultures. This is how among others, you will find therein African fabrics associated with others, turning the items into something no more exclusively ethnical but neutral with a cachet, that can fit any house. Similarly, African ingredients are included into western recipes and typical African recipes are offered. Thus, the many people who have no clue on how to use the vast range of tempting worldwide products that are displayed on supermarket shelves can enjoy a different and tasty cuisine. Inexpensive ingredients can be turned into gourmet dishes and a mere piece of fabric can reveal itself as a beautiful table cloth just adding another piece of matching material. Since not everyone can afford it, almost all the recipes can be made without olive oil but keep being excellent when a beautiful living environment isn't about money but taste.

This book explores the different aspects of Henry van de Velde’s creative activity through a study of his writings and major works of his German period (1900-1916), including his unpublished manuscript on ornament. The study casts light on this major figure in Early Modern architecture, specifically on his aesthetic theory, centered around themes such as “rational conception” and “empathy”. This study focuses on this specific period of van de Velde’s work, as it constitutes the period of his greatest activity as a designer, teacher, and architect. While examining the relation between his writings and his built works, it thematically addresses the different architectural works realized by the architect during this period.

This book examines the phenomenon of the reappearance of characters in nineteenth-century French fiction. It approaches this from a hitherto unexplored perspective: that of the twin history of the aesthetic notion of originality and the legal notion of literary property. While the reappearance of characters in the works of canonical authors such as Honoré de Balzac and Émile Zola is usually seen as a device which transforms the individual works of an author into a coherent whole, this book argues that the unprecedented systematisation of the reappearance of characters in the nineteenth century has to be seen within a wider cultural, economic, and legal context. While fictional characters are seen as original creations by their authors, from a legal point of view they are considered to be ‘ideas’ which are not protected and can be appropriated by anyone. By co-examining the reappearance of characters in the work of canonical authors and their reappearances in unauthorised appropriations, such as stage adaptations and sequels, this book discusses a series of issues that have shaped our understanding of authorship, originality, and property.

Art through the Ages in Afghanistan, written in two volumes is a major work. It is the product of many years of research, including frequents visits to Kabul Museum and important archeological sites in Afghanistan, as well as visits to major museums in Europe and America housing important artifacts from Afghanistan. In completing his work Hamid Naweed has also made use of numerous interviews with Afghan and international scholars, local artist and local people living in the vicinity of historical sites. The second volume covering the art of Afghanistan from the advent of Islam through present time is expected to be published shortly after the publication of the first volume.
