Excerpt from Minutes of the Cincinnati Annual Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church: Fortieth Session, Held in Urbana, Ohio, September 2-9, 1891 This Conference having last year voted affirmatively on the ques tion of equal lay representation in the General Conference, by a vote of 87 for to 16 against, we do not wish to be misunderstood by our vote on the Philadelphia Conference proposition. We are still in favor Of equal representation, but are opposed to that part of the proposition which would abolish the existing privilege in the General Conference of a vote by separate orders. 'c.
