Model Driven Development And Operation Of Multi Cloud Applications

This book summarizes work being undertaken within the collaborative MODAClouds research project, which aims to facilitate interoperability between heterogeneous Cloud platforms and remove the constraints of deployment, portability, and reversibility for end users of Cloud services. Experts involved in the project provide a clear overview of the MODAClouds approach and explain how it operates in a variety of applications. While the wide spectrum of available Clouds constitutes a vibrant technical environment, many early-stage issues pose specific challenges from a software engineering perspective. MODAClouds will provide methods, a decision support system, and an open source IDE and run-time environment for the high-level design, early prototyping, semiautomatic code generation, and automatic deployment of applications on multiple Clouds. It will free developers from the need to commit to a fixed Cloud technology stack during software design and offer benefits in terms of cost savings, portability of applications and data between Clouds, reversibility (moving applications and data from Cloud to non-Cloud environments), risk management, quality assurance, and flexibility in the development process.

This volume features a collection of papers on emerging concepts, significant insights, novel approaches and ideas in information systems research. It examines advances in information systems development in general, and their impact on the development of new methods, tools and management. The book contains invited papers selected from the 27th International Conference on Information Systems Development (ISD) held in Lund, Sweden, August 22 - 24, 2018. The revised and expanded papers present research that focuses on methods, tools and management in information systems development. These issues are significant as they provide the basis for organizations to identify new markets, support innovative technology deployment, and enable mobile applications to detect, sense, interpret and respond to the environment.

This volume contains the technical papers presented in the workshops, which took place at the 6th European Conference on Service-Oriented and Cloud Computing, ESOCC 2017, held in Oslo, Norway, September 2017: First International Workshop on Business Process Management in the Cloud, BPM@Cloud 2017; Third International Workshop on Cloud Adoption and Migration, CloudWays 2017. The 9 full papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 12 submissions. In addition, the volume also contains 8 EU Projects papers, describing projects presented at the European Projects Forum, which took place at ESOCC 2017. The papers focus on specific topics in service-oriented and cloud computing domains such as limits and/or advantages of existing cloud solutions, future internet technologies, efficient and adaptive deployment and management of service-based applications across multiple clouds, novel cloud service migration practices and solutions, digitization of enterprises in the cloud computing era, federated cloud networking services.

This book constitutes the revised selected papers of the scientific satellite events that were held in conjunction with the 15th International Conference on Service-Oriented Computing, ICSOC 2017, held in Málaga, Spain, in November 2017. This book constitutes extended, revised and selected papers from the 7th Ith International Conference on Cloud Computing and Service Science, CLOSER 2017, held in Porto, Portugal, in April 2017. The 16 papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 123 submissions. CLOSER 2017 focused on the emerging area of Cloud Computing, inspired by some latest advances that concern the infrastructure, operations and available services throughout the global network.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 8th IFIP WG 2.14 European Conference on Service-Oriented and Cloud Computing, ESOCC 2020, held in Heraklion, Crete, Greece, in September 2020. The 6 full and 8 short papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 20 submissions. The main event mapped to the main research track which focused on the presentation of cutting-edge research in both the service-oriented and cloud computing areas. In conjunction, an industrial track was also held attempting to bring together academia and industry through showcasing the application of service-oriented and cloud computing research, especially in the form of case studies, in the industry. This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 12th International Conference on Economics of Grids, Clouds, Systems, and Services, GECON 2015, held in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, in September 2015. The 11 revised full papers and 10 paper-in-progress presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 38 submissions. The presentation sessions that have been set up are: resource allocation, service selection in clouds, energy conservation and smart grids, applications: tools and protocols, community networks and legal and socio-economic aspects.
