I have compiled this book as I believe in the power of the Word. Correctly used and interpreted, the Word is a strong ally in helping to affect feelings, attitudes, and actions you may take. I have worked on and collected this series of quotations over a long period of my working and personal life, but until now, I have only shared some of them with family, friends, and associates. They have been my inspiration when I needed moral support and mental understanding and guidance in moments of need. As you will appreciate, I cannot outline my life experiences and how all these quotations have affected me, but I will outline some of the major benefits and solutions. Some of these quotations have helped me resolve many personal and business situations in my life.

Have you had a Senior Moment yet? Maybe you know someone who's had a few? Check this list to know for sure: · You can remember being told the King was dead (George, not Elvis). · You still say 'colour television', and you watch television on a television. · Your home phone rings and you answer it. (And you still have a phone, not a 'landline'.) · You boast about 'doing it' three times a night and that's just getting up to pee. · You realise that your wardrobe has become ironic. You're not back in fashion, but you're hip. (And ironically, you now have an artificial hip). If you answered 'yes' to one or more of the above, congratulations! You are officially a Senior and this book is here to guide you through your best years (i.e. the past). Stroll, or maybe shuffle, down Nostalgia Avenue and bask in the glory of growing old disgracefully. (If you are a Young Person, this is the easiest Senior gift idea ever. You're welcome!)

At the heart of Christianity and at the center of the New Testament lies the epistle to the Romans, the most groundbreaking letter ever written. The author is Paul, an early convert from Judaism and the greatest early figure in the development and spread of Christianity. Romans contains his most cogent and compelling presentation of Christian faith and practice. The author takes logic and argument, poetry and imagination, scripture and prayer, history and experience, and weaves them into a letter that has become the premier document of Christian theology. The importance of Romans for Christian tradition is incalculable. Each generation of believers has found inspiration, relevance, and transforming power in this letter. To read Romans is to confront one's faith at its source. In Romans, Paul deals with problems as contemporary as today's headlines: divisions and sectarianism in society; fixation with violence; discrimination, prejudice, and inequality; social injustice; the destiny of the Jewish people; the role of the individual in the total sweep of history; the responsibilities of citizens to their government; and the morality of actions in which adults engage, sexual and otherwise. Grace is pervasive in Romans, present in every theme. As expected, it is evident in Christ's life and death, in God's righteousness (God's faithfulness and righteous justice), in justification, predestination, election, and saving faith; but grace is also present in Mosaic law and perhaps most surprisingly, in God's judgment and wrath. If grace can be said to underlie the Christian gospel and to embody the biblical portrayal of God's identity and activity, what does the word "grace" mean, and what is its transformative power? The answers are explored in Grace Revealed.

Teachable Moments is a personal reflection on the world’s most familiar prayer taken from the lips of Jesus Himself, repeated in every language on a weekly basis in churches throughout the world. Written in a readable and thought-provoking style, Teachable Moments will prompt new thoughts about Jesus’s radical theology of God as Abba Father. When Jesus taught his disciples this brief prayer, he had an agenda much larger than just the words we pray. He was addressing our understanding of God and the nature of our relationship with God. He was teaching about the nature of citizenship in God’s Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. Kingdom citizens practice forgiveness breaking the unhealthy cycle of revenge and retaliation. Jesus warned about temptation and the nature of pervasive evil in the world. Jesus’s goal was to correct all the wrong-headed misconceptions the world has accumulated about the one true God who He understood as Abba Father. Finally, this provocative book asks the all-important question: What kind of Jesus says and teaches things like these? Who is the Jesus we are following?
