National Recreation Lakes Study

Pres. Clinton appointed this Commission to examine concerns regarding recreation at Fed. manmade lakes. Consumers, industry groups, conservation org's., & state & local gov't. have all become increasingly dissatisfied with recreation at Fed. lakes. The Fed. agencies in charge of lakes are unable to provide recreation facilities & lake conditions that meet public demand; & they are failing to recognize & act on recreation opport. The report concludes that recreation at Fed. lakes is beset by a multitude of difficulties & shortcomings. There needs to be an increase in recreation funding & the removal of policy & mgmt. barriers. Illustrated.
