New Australian Stiletto Flies Revision Of Manestella Metz And Description Of Medomega Gen N Diptera Therevidae Agapophytinae

Australia has a rich and diverse fauna of endemic stiletto flies, with many species still awaiting discovery and description. Herein 14 new species in the genus Manestella Metz are described, along with another six species described in a new genus Medomega, a putative sister genus to Manestella.

The Invertebrate World of Australia’s Subtropical Rainforests is a comprehensive review of Australia’s Gondwanan rainforest invertebrate fauna, covering its taxonomy, distribution, biogeography, fossil history, plant community and insect–plant relationships. The series Entomonograph was established in 1978 and ten volumes were published up to 1988 by E.J. Brill Publishers in Leiden, The Netherlands. Most volumes are now out of print.
