Offer Them Life

In this book Dan Dunn proposes that the biblical theme of life is extremely important and thus provides a helpful foundation for the theory and practice of evangelism. He makes a strong case for Christ-followers to embrace a life-based evangelistic vision as a way to help non-believers choose the full and vibrant life that God intends for them in Jesus. While making this strong case, he also urges readers to avoid casting aside other evangelistic visions (such as those based on discipleship, the kingdom, forgiveness, atonement, etc.). Instead, he invites us to add a life-based evangelistic vision to the possibilities available to us for helping people choose to follow Jesus and thus experience the life He makes possible for them.

T his book began as a few social media posts during Lent several years ago. I wrote from the heart about my faith life and from those few posts, this effort began. The devotional I was reading at the time noted that men typically don’t share much about their faith lives on social media and it challenged the reader to share a few things on social media throughout Lent. Once the Easter season concluded, I was ready to move onto something else but several people who had been following my journey throughout Lent encouraged me to keep going and to keep sharing. Before I knew it, I was sharing a daily inspirational message! The encouragement to do this helped fuel a desire to go deeper with my relationship with God. As part of the devotional, you will note several photos that display the beauty of creation that I have experienced. I often find my time in nature a time to draw nearer to God and I hope the photos in this devotional are also a way for you to see God in the things that surround you. It is my sincere hope that this devotional will help you draw closer to God by spending some quality time with Him each day. In today’s busy world, a few minutes of silence each day brings clarity, draws us closer to God, and allows us to better understand His plans for us.

Reflections on Life, Love, and Events That Shape Them This book is a departure from the books I've published in the past, which are mostly on business history and processes and several collections of poetry. This book of essays combines reflections on my own life experiences with thoughts on subjects including a look at what I see happening in our country today, thoughts on God and religion, the life of Anne Frank and her continuing influence today, directions in medicine and treatment, and several other topics. It also looks at my background in sports and how it exposed me to a broad range of people and events that fueled my knowledge and experience to support this book.

The Life of Margaret Alice Murray: A Woman’s Work in Archaeology is the first book-length biography of Margaret Alice Murray (1863–1963), one of the first women to practice archeology. Despite Murray’s numerous professional successes, her career has received little attention because she has been overshadowed by her mentor, Sir Flinders Petrie. This oversight has obscured the significance of her career including her fieldwork, the students she trained, her administration of the pioneering Egyptology Department at University College London (UCL), and her published works. Rather than focusing on Murray’s involvement in Petrie’s archaeological program, Kathleen L. Sheppard treats Murray as a practicing scientist with theories, ideas, and accomplishments of her own. This book analyzes the life and career of Margaret Alice Murray as a teacher, excavator, scholar, and popularizer of Egyptology, archaeology, anthropology, linguistics, and more. Sheppard also analyzes areas outside of Murray’s archaeology career, including her involvement in the suffrage movement, her work in folklore and witchcraft studies, and her life after her official retirement from UCL.
