The Agent was to bear all the expenses incurred in the survey of the township; to open a road through, and erect, or cause to be erected, mills within the town ship; which conditions were to be fulfilled within a given term of time before the granting of the Letters Patent. Five-sevenths of the township were to be given to the Agent and Associates; of the other two-sevenths, one half was for the disposition of the Crown, the other half for Protestant Clergy; which lands were known as Crown and Clergy reserves.
