This is an open access book. The development of the industrial revolution era 4.0 and society 5.0 changed the ways of thinking and pedagogical practices in Civic Education toward a critical digital pedagogy. In this context, pedagogical practices focuses on both community and collaboration. It remains open to the development of diverse information, ways of communication and collaboration across cultural and political boundaries, various perspectives in formulating definitions and solving problems. It further requires instructional practices to use some applications beyond traditional educational institutions, and contemporary digital technology in learning. Therefore, it is necessary to reprogram civic education in Indonesia within the framework of Critical Digital Pedagogy practice to shape students becoming good citizens in the digital era. The Fourth Annual Civic Education Conference is an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary platform that aims to bring leading experts, educators, policymakers, researchers, lecturers, teachers and students to examine and take strategic roles in developing Critical Digital Pedagogy and its implications for civic education. This is an open access book. International Conference on Law, Governance and Social Justice is organized by Faculty of Law, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman. The conference provides a forum for scholars, researchers and prationers to share their ideas, results of researchs and experiences in dealing with recent issues on the challenges of law, governance and social justice.

This conference is an international forum to disseminate knowledge and research development among researchers, scholars, professionals, and those interested in research interests in Law and Social Sciences and Social Education. This conference was organized by the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha. The theme of this fourth conference is "Race, Ethnicity, and Nationalism in Postmodern Society: Opportunities and Challenges".

This is an open access book. This conference will discuss transformation issues in various fields along with the COVID-19 crisis in the world. During these two years of this pandemic, the world faced many significant changes. These changes have impacted various aspects of life, not only on a small scale in people’s everyday life, but also on a large scale that changes the social structure of society in the global world. The keywords in this transformation are adaptation, resilience, and innovation. Each party involved in the change is required to make adjustments so as not to be left behind. This is an open access book. The 5th Sriwijaya University Learning and Education International Conference (5th SULE-IC 2022) was held on October 5, 2022 in Palembang, South Sumatera, Indonesia. Palembang is a historic city located on the island of Sumatera. It was the capital of the Empire of Sriwijaya. During the glory of the Empire, it was one of the major learning centers in Asia. To continue the legacy of the Empire’s spirit of learning, the conference will, once more, be the gathering for academicians and professionals from education and related fields all over the world, to share ideas and innovations. The main goal of the 2022 SULE-IC is to provide and opportunity for academicians and professional from various education related field from all over the world to come together and learn from each other. This is an open access book. Socio-culturally, people in the Southeast Asian region have a heterogeneous composition. This diversity can be seen from the large number of ethnic compositions that inhabit the region. For example, in Indonesia, there are already various ethnic groups, not yet to mention in other regions such as Malaysia, Philippine, and others. The diversity of these ethnic groups is directly proportional to the variety of languages that exist in Southeast Asia. Similarly with the languages, the culture in these ethnic groups is definitely diverse. Interestingly, this diversity is constantly changing, keeping up with the global changes. These changes are important to study, in order to get an overview of the socio-cultural changes and continuity that currently exist in the Southeast Asian region. The various changes and continuity that occur historically, geographically, and socio-culturally mentioned above, will also have various impacts on the educational aspect. Therefore, it is also pivotal to examine the various change and continuity that occur in the field of education of Southeast Asia. This is because the field of education will determine where Southeast Asia will be taken in the future.

Emotional intelligence has emerged as an important area of research in the artificial intelligence field as it covers a wide range of real-life domains. Though machines may never need all the emotional skills that people need, there is evidence to suggest that machines require at least some of these skills to appear intelligent when interacting with people. To understand how deep learning-based emotional intelligence can be applied and utilized across industries, further study on its opportunities and future directions is required.
