This is an open access book. Indonesia, as a member of ASEAN, is now facing the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) 2016. The AEC will support the ASEAN’s transformation into a region that guarantees free movement of goods, services, capital, and skilled labors. This will make ASEAN an even more dynamic and competitive region. In preparation for the AEC, the ASEAN member countries have ventured to improve the comparability and connectivity of their TVET systems. As an important component of human resources development, TVET is expected to play an active role in preparing the successful EAC. The implications of technological, economic and social trends are intervening factors that refine pedagogical strategies, leading to the molding of TVET as a more effective platform to catalyze pragmatic approaches to prepare the workforce for the new imperatives of the world of work. Regional integration and harmonization of TVET in the region have become key concerns and at the same time the strength of the ASEAN region. They are considered the overarching interventions needed in TVET to address major issues and challenges.

This is an open access book. The 4th Vocational Education International Conference (VEIC 2022) is an annual and internationally - refereed conference. The main objective of VEIC 2022 is to provide an international platform for researchers, practitioners, stakeholders in the field of vocational education to discuss about the issue and challenges in the field of Technology and Vocational Education. The main theme of VEIC 2022 is Post-pandemic Challenge in Technical and Vocational Education and Training of Higher Education.

We are delighted to present the Proceedings of the 4th International Conference on Innovation in Education, Science and Culture (ICIESC) that organized by Research and Community Service Centre of Universitas Negeri Medan (LPPM UNIMED). Proceedings of the 4th ICIESC contains several papers that have presented at the seminar with theme Education and Science in time of uncertainty: Recovering for the Future. This conference was held on 11 October 2022 virtually and become a routine agenda annually. The 4th ICIESC was realized this year with various presenters, lecturers, researchers and students from universities both in and out of Indonesia. The 4th International Conference on Innovation in Education, Science and Culture (ICIESC) 2022 shows up as a Mathematics and Natural Science, Material Science, Physics Education, Biology Education, Chemistry Education, Vocational Education, Applied Sciences-Computers, Multimedia Technology, Applied Mathematics, E-learning system, Applied Sciences-Information Technology, Applied Sciences-Engineering, Social Science and Humanities, Management Innovation and Heritage Culture research platform to gather presentations and discussions of recent achievements by leading researchers in academic research. With the number participants 260 participants, who came from the various national and international universities member, research institute, and academician. There are 181 papers passed through rigorous reviews process and accepted by the committee. All of papers reflect the conference scopes and become the latest trend. It has been our privilege to convene this conference. Our sincere thanks, to the conference organizing committee; to the Program Chairs for their wise advice and brilliant suggestion on organizing the technical program and to the Program Committee for their through and timely reviewing of the papers. The 5th International Conference on Vocational Education and Technology is an international forum specially designed by the Faculty of Engineering and Vocational, Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha to bring together academics, researchers and professionals to present their ideas and experiences in a scientific event. IConVET 2022 welcomes paper submissions for innovative work from researchers from diverse backgrounds including students, teachers, researchers, practitioners and the general public in Education, Vocational and Technology. The IConVET-2022 theme is "Modern Education and Technology in Vocational”. The geographic diversity of our authors came from universities and institutions throughout Indonesia. We received whose full papers were further selected by outstanding reviewers from different institutions. We received a total of 50 submission of full papers and through a quite process, we finally accepted 30 papers for presentations and publish. Therefore, on behalf of the committee and the Research Institute of Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha. The success of the IConVET-2022 is due to the support of many people i.e. steering committee members, program committee members, organizing committee members, authors, presenters, participants, keynote speakers, student committee, and people in other various roles. We would like to thank them all.

International Conference on Vocational Education Applied Science and Technology (ICVEAST), formerly known as International Conference on Vocation for Higher Education (ICVHE), is an annual event organized by the Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia, that aims to encourage innovative applied research in vocational higher education. In 2022, we rebranded the conference to focus on being an international forum where scholars and practitioners share their ideas on vocational education, especially within applied science and technology. The rebranding from ICVHE to ICVEAST marks our fifth conference. This year, we present our sixth conference, with the theme, “VOCATIONAL 5.0: Virtuosity Collaboration for Sustainability Development and Innovative Technologies Goals 5.0”. Collaboration for sustainability development is a crucial part of achieving a sustainable future. It involves working with stakeholders, such as governments, businesses, non-governmental organizations, and communities, to develop and implement sustainable solutions. These stakeholders can pool their resources, knowledge, and expertise by working together to create innovative solutions that benefit the environment and society. The collaboration also helps ensure that all stakeholders are on the same page regarding sustainability goals and objectives. By building relationships and trust between stakeholders, collaboration can help to create a more sustainable future. Innovative Technology Goal 5.0 focuses on using technology to improve access to education and foster a culture of innovation and creativity. It seeks to create a more equitable and inclusive learning environment by providing access to digital tools and resources for all students, regardless of background or ability. It also seeks to promote technology to support the development of 21st-century skills, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration. Finally, it aims to ensure that technology is used to support the development of a safe and secure learning environment while encouraging responsible and ethical use. VOCATIONAL 5.0 is a collaborative effort to promote sustainable development and innovative technology goals. It is designed to bring together experts from various fields, including business, education, government, and the non-profit sector, to identify and develop innovative solutions to global challenges. Through the use of data-driven decision-making and the application of new technologies, VOCATIONAL 5.0 seeks to create a more sustainable and equitable world. The initiative also aims to foster collaboration between stakeholders, create a platform for knowledge sharing, and promote the use of technology to drive social, economic, and environmental progress. By leveraging the collective expertise of its members, VOCATIONAL 5.0 is committed to achieving its sustainable development and innovative technology goals. This ICVEAST aims to be a respected international forum to discuss the recent improvement and challenges in Vocational Education nowadays and in the future, from the research insight, mainly applied research in the field of administration and business, health science, social humanities, and engineering. The event will gather representatives from different countries, diverse areas of knowledge, and lots of education, research, public institutions, and organizations. The conference is devised as a space to exchange ideas and discuss the challenges that education and manufacturing face in preparing human capabilities to shift into the current trend of automation and the role of advanced technologies in those challenges. We intend to have an interactive conference through these three different sessions: business talks, keynote, and parallel/presentation sessions.
