This is an open access book. Business Innovation and Engineering Conference 2022 brings together contributions from students and scientists dealing with different aspects of business innovation and management, and we believe that there is also an equal number of promising study projects and prospectus results. The conference will be held at School of Business, IPB University, Bogor, Indonesia at August 11-12, 2022. This conference is held with the goals of: 1. Exchanging information on recent research issues related to business innovation, and engineering in Southeast Asia and the world in general; 2. Expanding international cooperation network; 3. Generating internationally reputable and nationally accredited publications; and 4. Initiating Business Innovation and Engineering (BIEC) as a communication forum related to business innovation, and engineering in Southeast Asia.

The three-volume set LNICST 465, 466 and 467 constitutes the proceedings of the Second EAI International Conference on Application of Big Data, Blockchain, and Internet of Things for Education Informatization, BigIoT-EDU 2022, held as virtual event, in July 29–31, 2022. The 204 papers presented in the proceedings were carefully reviewed and selected from 550 submissions. BigIoT-EDU aims to provide international cooperation and exchange platform for big data and information education experts, scholars and enterprise developers to share research results, discuss existing problems and challenges, and explore cutting-edge science and technology. The conference focuses on research fields such as “Big Data” and “Information Education. The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain and network security lies at the heart of this conference as we focused on these emerging technologies to excel the progress of Big Data and information education.

This book gathers the proceedings of the 12th International Conference on Frontier Computing, held in Tokyo, Japan, on July 12–15, 2022, and provides comprehensive coverage of the latest advances and trends in information technology, science, and engineering. It addresses a number of broad themes, including communication networks, business intelligence and knowledge management, Web intelligence, and related fields that inspire the development of information technology. As discourses and programming to support diversity and inclusion across higher education are intensifying, Leaps of Faith: Stories from Working-Class Academics presents a collection of narratives that highlights the "on-the-ground" experiences of working-class students and scholars. These are stories of negotiation, transition, and challenge. These are stories of struggle. These are stories of beating the odds. The early works of Ryan and Sackrey (1984), Sennett and Cobb (1993), and Dews and Law (1996) raised the voices of working-class academics, and the subject of class in higher education has gained traction--especially with the increasing focus on the enrollment and persistence of first-generation college students. This project situates contributor stories in adult learning and development, with the goal of enhancing dialogue and increasing understanding of a still-hidden population in the academy. Leaps of Faith: Stories from Working-Class Academics is a compelling collection of reflections from working-class students and scholars from diverse demographic and geographic backgrounds who are currently navigating various transition points and career stages. Leaps of Faith: Stories from Working-Class Academics presents the strengths and gifts of the scholar-contributors and the opportunity to "turn the stories" through accessible and meaningful reflective "telling." The collection concludes with a discussion of salient implications for working-class students and scholars, those who support their learning and development, and higher education institutions and programs.

The International Scientific Conference “FarEastCon” took place on October 2-4, 2018 in Vladivostok, Russian Federation. This collection presents papers reflecting recent advances in the field of materials engineering and technologies for production and processing in the different areas of modern manufacturing.

This book features latest research insights into the study of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The focus is on understanding its influence on the development of socially and physically defined ‘places’, and how these factors are related with each other. The book argues that regardless of how the concept of a ‘place’ is defined, be it cities, regions, nations or otherwise, the impact of new technologies will influence much of our business, social, and economic landscapes. Evidently, there is an increasing pressure on ‘places’ to embrace new opportunities for strategic development and confront complacency. The solution may very well be in creating and sustaining entrepreneurial ecosystems where entrepreneurial action thrives and innovation drives the new economy.
