This is an open access book. Language in the workplace has been increasingly interesting object of language study. The gathering of language speakers ​​with various social and cultural backgrounds makes the workplace a rich place with linguistic data for research. The present volume is the outcome of a seminar on the Ideology and Status of Sanskrit held in Leiden under the auspices of the International Institute for Asian Studies. The articles published in this volume of the Clarep Journal of English and Linguistics (C-JEL) are largely the outcome of the "Academic Writing for Africa: The Journal Article Workshop" convened by the Centre for Language Research and English Proficiency (CLAREP) under the sponsorship of the Volkswagen Foundation, Germany in May, 2018.
