Prophetic Messages On Nigeria

This book was orchestrated by the Holy Spirit for a time like now, and was birthed in the Spirit between 2007 and 2010, a span of three years. But its impact for the country and the citizens will last a life-time if the call is heard by those to whom the Lord is speaking. The country is at a cross road right now with the various interest groups pulling the country in different directions, and mainly inspired by their selfish and blind pursuit of ill-conceived agenda to loot the treasury of the land, our collective heritage. I want to warn anyone who reads this book and still wants to be in stupor, that it is either you are a part of the solution or you're a part of the problem. There is no more space in the Nigerian sphere for observers, and those who want to straddle the fence are going to be victims of Happenstance. We are to take our rightful position as sons of God; being the rightful owners of this land called Nigeria, and God Almighty will send his angels to support the work and the mandate he has given to you. This is a clarion call for all to stand and be counted, register a company or an association of your own calling and push for the change you can believe in. This is our country, and there is nowhere else we would be accepted as in this land; it is in this country we have our destiny tied to, and we have the next five years to plant and position whatever it is that God has asked you to do. Go for it, forget what can happen to your image, name or monies; they are nothing compared with what will befall a man whom God has clearly given a man- date and having known about it, fails to attempt it, nonetheless, carry it out. Imagine eternity and decide where you would spend yours. Knowing what God wants you to do and refusing to do it is the sin of disobedience. Success is simply knowing what God has deposited inside of you and positioning yourself to achieve it. And He (God) never leaves that person empty handed. Nigeria is stronger as a united country and not as a divided enclaves. Be- sides, God does not like disharmony, so we should find what unites us and remove every selfish desire, as we all find a lasting solution to our differences. For we are actually strengthened by the various diversities which makes us unique as a nation. Look at Singapore, South Africa, Malaysia and even the United Kingdom, all these options are different, but each one works for her people. Nigerians are the people who have the solution to Nigerian Problems. This is my way of contributing towards building the greater to- morrow of our Beloved Country. May God help us through these trying times, for in no time this too shall surely come to pass.

Father Udoekpo's work offers a thorough review of the theology of worship in the work of Amos of Tekoa, one of Israel's foundational prophets. It critically examines Amos 5 in its socio-historical and literary context and theologically reevaluates the application of Amos's message of ethical worship, judgment, and hope to two contemporary cultures: Nigeria and the United States of America. While intentionally down to earth and engaging in society and religion, this work discusses in a thoughtful and detailed exegetical manner the various sub-units of lamentation (vv. 1-3), the motifs of the remnant, the exhortation to the seek the Lord, justice and righteousness (vv. 4-6; 14-15, 24), judgment, and the notion of the Day of the Lord (vv. 18-20) as they relate to the theology of worship (vv. 21-27) in Amos 5. The author pastorally draws the reader's attention to Amos' view that worship must not be restricted to hypocritical offerings, empty rituals, and songs at sanctuaries, but needs to incorporate ethics of justice, peace, and righteousness practiced in marketplaces and plazas.

He holds a Master's degree in Biblical and Pastoral Theology from Liverpool Hope University, UK. He is a Youth Mentor, published author, church leader and founder of Alive Mentorship Group, an online mentoring platform for young adults with membership spanning over 60 nationalities. The Church is the Sacrament of Communion with God and unity among all men (Cf. Vatican II doc. L.G. 1). Christ prayed for this unity amongst his adherents in accordance with the unity between him and God the Father (Cf. Jn. 17: 21). This unity will be a sign by which the outside world is to believe in him, hence calling on the Church to rise up to this demand. Efforts were made by the Church to respond to this demand, but it was at the Second Vatican Council that the search for unity became an imperative. With this Council, the Church acknowledged the possibility of Salvation for the members of other Christian traditions and people of other religions. The Church has done a lot to promote this unity, through the teachings of the Magisterium and the activities of the recent Popes. It is then important to study the situation of Nigeria, where this call of the Vatican II, has received scant response both in ecumenical and interreligious relations. Having done pastoral work in places with interdenominational and interreligious rivalry in Nigeria, I became concerned and worried. The present religious crises in Nigeria, has escalated to an issue of grave concern with the Boko Haram insurgency. My motivation is to demonstrate the teaching of the Church regarding interdenominational and interreligious dialogue within Nigeria. There has been no sustained effort to build bridges of religious unity in the country. This research will demonstrate the necessity of ecumenical dialogue as a prelude to interreligious dialogue in Nigeria. On the global level, the need for various religions to foster relationships has become an imperative. Two important bodies CAN and NIREC, will be studied in this book. The work aims at demonstrating the involvement of the Nigerian Christians and Muslims in ecumenical and interreligious dialogue. Essentially concerned with the Catholic view of ecumenical and interreligious dialogue & its application to the Nigerian situation. No in-depth study of the religions involved. It is rather the fact of their existence & the role dialogue will play with them to solve religious problems in Nigeria. Though ATR was considered in this work, but the issue of dialogue will only involve Nigerian Muslims & Christians. The research wishes to provoke further study on dialogue between ATR and any of the other two religions. Two issues involved: the reality & importance of the Catholic teachings on ecumenical & interreligious dialogue, and their application to the Nigerian situation. Key methods involved in this work are literary research and analysis, through theological, historical, critical, descriptive, analytical & expository approaches.
