In a church culture that is rapidly losing its unique, intergenerational make-up in favor of small groups and even entire churches designed to target specific age groups, it can be difficult for ministers to relate to those who are not in their own demographic. But Warren and David Wiersbe, representing two generations, believe that generational differences should not keep ministers from relating to their congregations. In this thoughtful and practical book, they offer ten principles for Christian service that always work, at all times and in all places, inviting ministers to get back to the basics of serving others. New and seasoned pastors alike will find this a welcome source of inspiration and instruction on how they can relate and minister to people of all ages.

Portrait of a Servant of God is a devotional book based on the life of Theodore Bubeck and the letters he wrote to his family over a period of thirty years. Ted and his wife were pioneer missionary church planters from 1928 to 1960 in the Belgian Congo (now the Democratic Republic of Congo). After Teds death, his daughter Naomi found their correspondence and excerpted impressions and stories to form the basis for this book. Part one gives the basis for biblical servanthood and external factors that influenced Ted. Part two includes qualities of a Christian servant. Part three describes the results of being Gods servant, some perils and benefits.

In Called to Be God's Leader, readers examined God's call for leadership through the life of Joshua. And now, in this fourth book in the Biblical Legacy Series, Drs. Henry and Tom Blackaby go behind the scenes of one of the Bible's greatest leaders in Anointed to Be God's Servants. Many people desire to be a "Joshua" but are called to serve in supporting positions. Through the life of Paul, readers will learn of the critical role that supporting companions play in God's kingdom. Why did Paul so desperately need companions? What does true companionship look like? How does Paul's life teach us to effectively support leaders around us? Anointed to Be God's Servants answers all of these questions and more, revealing the wonderful nature of interdependence in God's kingdom.

In this addition to the Catholic Commentary on Sacred Scripture (CCSS), Daniel Keating interprets First and Second Peter and Jude for pastoral ministers and lay readers alike. The seventeen-volume CCSS series, which will cover the entire New Testament, relates Scripture to life, is faithfully Catholic, and is supplemented by features designed to help readers understand the Bible more deeply and use it more effectively. Praise for the CCSS "These commentaries are both exegetically sound and spiritually nourishing. They are indispensable tools for preaching, catechesis, evangelization, and other forms of pastoral ministry."--Thomas G. Weinandy, OFM Cap, United States Conference of Catholic Bishops

INTRODUCTION - This paperback is intended to be used as a devotional, with the individual seeking God by means of prayer afterwards. "Needed: Servants of God" by no means exhausts what can be written on this subject. It simply is intended to stimulate thinking and motivate Christians into being a truly dedicated vessel that God can use in today's world. PREFACE - In the autumn of 1972 the Holy Spirit stirred my heart. I feel He showed me over and over again what God needs in this last generation. The Spirit would speak to my inner being all hours of the day and even waken me from a sound sleep in the night to make me aware of this great need. It is the purpose to this booklet to share this need and to challenge you with examples of men that God could use. (Our proceeds go to charity)

The Tao of Islam is a rich and diverse anthology of Islamic teachings on the nature of the relationships between God and the world, the world and the human being, and the human being and God. Focusing on gender symbolism, Sachiko Murata shows that Muslim authors frequently analyze the divine reality and its connections with the cosmic and human domains with a view toward a complementarity or polarity of principles that is analogous to the Chinese idea of yin/yang. Murata believes that the unity of Islamic thought is found, not so much in the ideas discussed, as in the types of relationships that are set up among realities. She pays particular attention to the views of various figures commonly known as "Sufis" and "philosophers," since they approach these topics with a flexibility and subtlety not found in other schools of thought. She translates several hundred pages, most for the first time, from more than thirty important Muslims including the Ikhwan al-Safa', Avicenna, and Ibn al-'Arabi.
