Returning To The Teachings

In his bestselling book Dancing with a Ghost, Rupert Ross began his exploration of Aboriginal approaches to justice and the visions of life that shape them. Returning to the Teachings takes this exploration further still. During a three-year secondment with Justice Canada, Ross travelled from the Yukon to Cape Breton Island, examining--and experiencing--the widespread Aboriginal preference for "peacemaker justice." This study examines the traditional Cree and Ojibway world view, develops an appreciation of native philosophy and indicates ways in which native values can be incorporated into court and criminal law processes and other aspects of 'mainstream' culture in Canada.

Returning to the Void came into manifestation per the request of Hohepa Delamere, alias Papa Joe, who is a widely known and highly respected Maori elder and healer from New Zealand. Together with other healers he came to the USA and also to Europe to help ople outside his home soil. Their tremendous success abroad has been a result of successfully addressing the whole being instead of just treating symptoms, and in that way, achieving hundreds of "miracle healings". In June 2005 Papa Joe met Iris Loesel in California and asked her to help preserve Maori knowledge by writing about it. Iris, who was new to Maori healing, was given a spiritual transfer of knowledge by Papa Joe and by that was enabled to channel this book. The final text was read and approved by Papa Joe. This is the first of a series of books about Papa Joe and his teachings on Maori wisdom and healing.

In these talks in India , Krishnamurti begins by stating his intention to begin answering questions put forth to him by others. He points out that if an answer is to be right, the question itself must also be. "...a serious question put by a serious person, by an earnest person who is seeking out the solution of a very difficult problem, then, obviously, there will be an answer befitting that question."

Returning to Ceremony is the follow-up to Chantal Fiola’s award-winning Rekindling the Sacred Fire and continues her ground-breaking examination of Métis spirituality, debunking stereotypes such as “all Métis people are Catholic,” and “Métis people do not go to ceremonies.” Fiola finds that, among the Métis, spirituality exists on a continuum of Indigenous and Christian traditions, and that Métis spirituality includes ceremonies. For some Métis, it is a historical continuation of the relationships their ancestral communities have had with ceremonies since time immemorial, and for others, it is a homecoming – a return to ceremony after some time away. Fiola employs a Métis-specific and community-centred methodology to gather evidence from archives, priests’ correspondence, oral history, storytelling, and literature.
