Combining the art of dramatic storytelling with biography, Church history, and Catholic teaching and belief, this collection of stories features saints from different eras, continents, and walks of life. Each brief story highlights a particular aspect of or challenge in the saints life and connects it to a Gospel verse. Themes include: conversion, discipleship, bearing witness, ministering to Christ, love, suffering, union with God, living the Word, and faith. Showing how real people lived the Gospel, their stories reveal the richness of the Christian life and offer inspirational models of the faith. Along with their biographical portraits, each included saint features a prayer, a fact box, notes, lesser-known facts, and a quote from their writings. A Readers Guide contains personal reflection and group discussion questions and directs readers to relevant parts of the Bible and the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

Gondola, Jr.was ordained in the United Church of Christ (UCC) in 1975, and served as an Associate Pastor, Pastor and Senior Pastor, mostly in larger membership churches. He retired in 2011. He is a graduate of Allegheny College (Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies), Andover Newton Theological School (Master of Divinity), California State University, Dominguez Hills (Master of Arts) and Colgate Rochester Divinity School (Doctor of Ministry). In addition to his five books, and contributing to a sixth, more than 150 of his articles, sermons, stories and/or preaching illustrations have reappeared in clergy journals. He and his wife, Bonnie, reside in Amherst, New Hampshire.

The Daughters of St. Paul at Pauline Books and Media noticed that most books on the lives of the saints are paperback and do not have a presentation as timeless or as beautiful as we believe the lives of the saints deserve. For this reason, we decided to take on the monumental project to write, design, and illustrate a volume of 365 saints and blesseds. Supported by the prayers of our sisters in convents and Pauline Books and Media bookstores around the world, over thirty of our sisters worked on all aspects of this timeless volume for over a decade. It's our hope that it will reflect the striking beauty of the saints' lives--a meeting of heaven and earth.
