Indonesia has broken new ground in showing how the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) can be implemented in line with local wisdom and customs to deliver best results. Focusing on total village development is the key to a successful bottom-up approach. This book provides an accessible account of how Indonesia has localized and augmented the SDGs through a unique concept called the 18 SDGs Desa (Village SDGs). The additional goal is Dynamic Village Institutions and Adaptive Village Culture. As the international community faces increasing challenges from health to climate change, this timely book will be welcomed by development specialists and policy makers a like. It is also essential reading for anyone with an interest in village development in modern Indonesia.

This is an open access book. International Conference on Law, Governance and Social Justice is organized by Faculty of Law, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman. The conference provides a forum for scholars, researchers and prationers to share their ideas, results of researchs and experiences in dealing with recent issues on the challenges of law, governance and social justice.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and the Paris Climate Agreement are examples of initiatives where countries show recognition of their interconnected interests and goals. This is particularly evident in the case of global environmental issues because they require global decision-making. The emergence of global environmental issues such as climate change, marine pollution and biodiversity loss has brought new challenges to governance and requires political support and innovation of global public policies. In addition, many social problems arise because of the environmental crisis. Environmental Issues and Social Inclusion in a Sustainable Era discusses environmental and social inclusion in a socio-economic perspective. The contributions analyse the management of global environmental problems at local, national and international levels, with a special focus on multilevel governance, innovative public policies, and economic development finance and business. This is an open access book. The 3rd Universitas Lampung International Conference on Social Sciences (ULICoSS) 2022 (ULICoSS) 2022 is an international conference organized by the Institute for Research and Community Services, Universitas Lampung, Indonesia. The event took place on 6th – 7th September 2022 in Bandar Lampung City, on the Indonesian island of Sumatra. This event will adopt a hybrid working model, combining an in-person event with an online meeting via Zoom. Attendees and presenters are expected to interact in this way, using technology to connect to global networks. As has been widely stated in the literature, a number of reports and papers have examined the pandemic’s negative effects, with the majority of work to date focusing on COVID-19’s negative impact on psychological well-being. Thus, social adjustment is required for resilience in order to adapt to and change in the face of adversity. In other words, it is clear that social adjustment, which includes the specific behaviors and abilities that people use to deal with daily problems and adapt to changing circumstances, is critical for global resilience today. As such, this international conference, which will feature five invited keynote speakers from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Indonesia, and Japan is intended to serve as a forum for the dissemination of specific alternative and significant breakthroughs in rapid social adjustments for global resilience, with an emphasis on global society, social welfare and development, and innovative communication, among other topics. Therefore, we invite scholars, academics, researchers, experts, practitioners, and university students to participate and share perspectives, experiences, and research findings by submitting papers on a variety of topics relevant to the conference’s theme and scope. All abstracts and papers submitted for consideration will undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure their quality, relevance, and originality.

This is an open access book. As the biggest university in Jambi province, Indonesia, Universitas Jambi has played an essential role as a key-player in both human and natural resources development in Jambi province. We have successfully developed cooperation in all sectors of development in Jambi province, Indonesia. We have contributed to a variety of activities such as research, community services, consultancies, and training services and provided some experts to speed up the development of Jambi Province and Indonesia in general. Today, Jambi University consistently seeks innovative methods to participate more actively in an inter-discipline study for sharing research on green development in all areas of knowledge, science, and expertise. In doing so, the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) of Universitas Jambi hosted the fourth Green Development International Conference in 2022, carried out once every two years. This Conference aims to provide insightful information concerning the development of a number of innovations in science and technology that are environmentally friendly, covering the fields of technology, environment, agriculture, energy, health, Law, education, and humanities.

Environmental Resilience and Transformation in Times of COVID-19: Climate Change Effects on Environmental Functionality is a timely reference to better understand environmental changes amid the COVID-19 pandemic and the associated lockdowns.
