Shri Guru Tattva Namavali

The one infinite Truth (tattva) itself, is God, Guru and the Self. The Sadguru leads us to the Guru tattva within and the grand Realisation of the Truth. Swami Tejomayananda has picked up 108 ever fresh flowers from the spring-time garden of the Scriptures and strung them into a beautiful garland of names – Shri Guru Tattva Namavali – as an offering in praise of the Guru tattva. The commentary on them makes its chanting and offering in worship, meaningful and joyful, and its reflection and meditation, subtle and Blissful. It is sure to invoke the grace of Guru in our lives.

The Guru can grant us everything - from the most mundane to the highest. His glories are infinite and his position, especially for a spiritual seeker, is supreme. Then what to speak of the glory of his padukas that serve him always, and which represent all that he stands for - Truth, God, knowledge, divinity and virtues. Shri Guru Paduka Stotram is a hymn that enumerates 25 glories of the padukas of the Guru. Swami Tejomayananda, with words soaked in devotion of his own Guru and the entire lineage of Gurus, expounds on these glories in a though-provoking and heart touching way. Reading, reflecting and revelling in this hymn will surely bring all that is promised.

Shrimad Bhagavat is renowned as one of the greatest compositions in Sanskrit Literature. The 18th Purana composed by Maharishi Veda-Vyasa, it stands unparalleled in its distinct and resplendent exaltation of devotion to God, revealing throughout the quintessence of Vedantic teachings. Masterfully profound and delightfully enchanting, Shrimad Bhagavat abounds in work-paintings of the supreme Lord's wondrous and endearing avatars, divine sports and devotees - paintings that kindle, intensity and establish devotion in one's heart. This spring of devotion leads one to satsang, to the Guru and to teachings that unveil one's essential nature of Brahman.

Bhakti Sandarbha is the fifth Sandarbha of Jīva Gosvāmī. The first Sandarbha deals with pramāna, the Bhāgavatam. The second, third and fourth Sandarbhas deal with sambandha: defining the Lord in his aspects as Paramātmā, Bhagavān and Kṛṣṇa. The present Sandarbha deals with the abhideya (method), the sādhana of bhakti. This is the means to realize Kṛṣṇa. The same topic is covered in the second chapter of the Eastern Section of Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu of Rūpa Gosvāmī, but is expanded greatly. It discusses the spiritual nature of this process, the qualification of bhakti, the various actions of bhakti, vaidhi and rāgānuga types, mixed and pure forms of bhakti and various types of devotees.
