Emily Kwamboka Mogeni is a 33 year old Kenyan American who lives in Eagan Minnesota with her husband Erick and their two young sons Damien and Dylan. She developed her writing interest as early as 5 years old. She went to Kenya’s top girls’ school, The Kenya High School where she excelled in English and Literature. She later moved to the United States to study Computer Science at the State University of New York. She is currently a student at the Minnesota School of Business. Her father, who was her great inspiration died in March 2003 due to throat cancer. Three months later her mother died. This is what gave her the inspiration to write this book and share the story of what many young orphans in Kenya are undergoing. Her book is an insight to the rest of the world about what is happening deep down in the roots of an African village. There are millions of children who will never live to enjoy what the world has to offer due to their HIV status. These children most of whom are very bright and smart suffer quietly while living with their aging grandparents in the poverty stricken villages. Most of them lost their parents soon after birth or before their fifth birthday. This book is a great inspiration to many of these children. All they need is a roof on top of their heads, a warm meal and proper medical care.

Anyone who has had children for more than a day knows parenting is about as easy as swimming the backstroke across the Atlantic Ocean. Rewarding, yes. Enjoyable, yes. Enlightening, yes. Challenging, for sure. Easy? No way. Parenting can be difficult, and painful, but sometimes love stops us right in our tracks overwhelms us. Sometimes life just turns over and spills out joy. >>Russell is having a bad hair day. Patrick’s latest hamster has disappeared. Lauren is wearing her most outlandish dress-up clothes and is out visiting elderly neighbor ladies. Donovan has wiggled a loose front tooth all week and now it’s finally under his pillow. Zachary yearns to go camping alone with his father, but has to put up with the whole family going along instead. There is no syrup for the Saturday-morning pancakes. Laundry is piling up everywhere. Meet Zachary, Russell, Donovan, Patrick, and Lauren, the lively brood of Thom and Lisa Hunter. As the head of this energetic household, Thom often feels like an air traffic controller at a major airport. But as he determinedly guides his children in the way they should go, he is surprised to find himself learning from them. And each day has new lessons to teach and new blessings to bestow. With gentle humor and delightful storytelling skill, Thom Hunter explores the joys and trials of Christian parenting through real-life tales from the front lines. Poignant, bittersweet, and often profound, these episodes will elicit chuckles from parents who have “been there,” as well as provide comfort and encouragement for those just embarking on their parenting journey.

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • The Pulitzer Prize–winning author of Empire Falls returns to North Bath, in upstate New York, and to the characters that captured the hearts and imaginations of millions of readers in his beloved best sellers Nobody’s Fool and Everybody’s Fool. “Sumptuous, spirited . . . [Russo] paints a shining fresco of a working-class community...” —The New York Times • "Another instant classic, filled with Russo's witty dialogue and warm understanding of human foibles." —People Magazine Ten years after the death of the magnetic Donald “Sully” Sullivan, the town of North Bath is going through a major transition as it is annexed by its much wealthier neighbor, Schuyler Springs. Peter, Sully’s son, is still grappling with his father’s tremendous legacy as well as his relationship to his own son, Thomas, wondering if he has been all that different a father than Sully was to him. Meanwhile, the towns’ newly consolidated police department falls into the hands of Charice Bond, after the resignation of Doug Raymer, the former North Bath police chief and Charice’s ex-lover. When a decomposing body turns up in the abandoned hotel situated between the two towns, Charice and Raymer are drawn together again and forced to address their complicated attraction to one another. Across town, Ruth, Sully’s married ex-lover, and her daughter Janey struggle to understand Janey’s daughter, Tina, and her growing obsession with Peter’s other son, Will. Amidst the turmoil, the town’s residents speculate on the identity of the unidentified body, and wonder who among their number could have disappeared unnoticed. Infused with all the wry humor and shrewd observations that Russo is known for, Somebody's Fool is another classic from a modern master.
