Story Time

Story time is a popular activity in public libraries. Unfortunately, many librarians (and not just children’s librarians) are thrust into the role of providing this service have not taken a course or had the necessary experience of performing story times. Story times are so popular that they are now offered to children of many ages, not just to preschoolers. Storytime the game is a way to open your mind and imagination. Compete against other players, or teams and write your way to the win. Your brain needs to be used and this is a great way to start your creative juices.

There is a place outside of time, there is a dimension beyond the realm of space. In this narrative, we embark on an imaginary journey to this place called heaven. Many have pondered, "What is it like?" Many heard of its existence and desired to eventually take up residence in this celestial city. During our adventure called Story Time in Heaven, we will see amazing places that fill us with wonder. We will meet some of heaven's citizens and hear incredible family stories and their accounts of dreams, choices, and covenants of love! Time matters to all of us. It dominates everyday discourse: diaries, schedules, clocks, working hours, opening times, appointments, weekdays and weekends, national holidays, religious festivals, birthdays, and anniversaries. But how do we, as unique individuals, subjectively experience time? The slowness of an hour in a boring talk, the swiftness of a summer holiday, the fleetingness of childhood, the endless wait for pivotal news: these are experiences to which we all can relate and of which we commonly speak. How can a writer not only report such experiences but also conjure them up in words so that readers share the frustration, the excitement, the anticipation, are on tenterhooks with a narrator or character, or in melancholic mourning for a time long-since passed, which we never experienced ourselves? Erica Wickerson suggests that the evocation of subjective temporal experience occurs in every sentence, on every page, at every plot turn, in any narrative. The Architecture of Narrative Time offers a new template for understanding narrative time that combines close readings with analysis of the structural overview. This is a book filled with morals teaching old and young, principles of God. The wonderful thing about the word of God is that there is no age limit, but it is for everyone. So with this book, many adults have come back and voiced their opinions about how they loved reading the stories themselves, as they have looked at them in a different light, through the eyes of a child. When you really stop and think about the many lessons that these stories can teach us, our children should be brought up with better guidance if parents would take the time to teach them in the ways of righteousness. These stories are designed, by the grace of God, to help parents present lessons to their children and hopefully start conversations with them to help in their growth process and how to make the right decisions.
