Sushruta was the first Indian surgeon of 600 century BC. The only burst of Sushruta is placed in Sushrutanagar, near Siliguri of India, The Sushruta Samhita is a Sanskrit text on surgery. The work is attributed to Sushruta, likely a historical physician of 6th century BCE Varanasi, although the text as preserved dates to the 3rd or 4th century CE.
