The first part is not intended as a study of botany, etc., but merely a synopsis to familiarize the student with those terms which are frequently used in Parts 11 and III. In Part II, in considering the individual drugs, only those essential points which are of value are noted, it being the author's desire to eliminate all matter of a super uous nature.
