The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1952, volume 2, contains messages given or published by Brother Witness Lee in 1952. Historical information concerning Brother Lee's travels and the content of his ministry in 1952 can be found in the general preface that appears at the beginning of this set. The contents of this volume are divided into three sections, as follows: 1. Five messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, in the summer of 1952. These messages originally appeared in the periodical The Ministry of the Word in 1964 and 1965. They were also previously published in a book entitled The Vision, Ministry, and Leading of the Lord's Serving Ones and are included in this volume under the same title. 2. Nine messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, in the summer of 1952. These messages were previously published in a book entitled How to Administrate the Church and are included in this volume under the same title. 3. Thirty-four messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, on September 22 through November 7, 1952. These messages are included in this volume under the title Revelations in Romans: Seeing God's Complete Salvation.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1964, volume 4, contains messages and fellowship given by Brother Witness Lee from September 11, 1964, through July 8, 1965. The contents of this volume are divided into four sections, as follows: 1. Twelve messages on various chapters of the New Testament given in Los Angeles from September 11, 1964, through January 8, 1965. These messages are included in this volume under the title Various Bible Studies. 2. A series of seven messages given during an informal training in Los Angeles on November 3 through December 22. This section has been previously published under the title Serving in the Meetings and in the Gospel. 3. A series of nineteen messages given during the winter conference in Los Angeles on December 25, 1964, through January 3, 1965. This section has been previously published under the title The Vision of God's Building. 4. A series of eighteen messages given in Los Angeles from November 5, 1964, through July 8, 1965. This section has been previously published under the title Practical Lessons on the Experience of Life.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1964, volume 2, contains messages and fellowship given by Brother Witness Lee from June 11 through September 5, 1964. After completing a monthlong conference and training in New York City, Brother Lee traveled to Miami and Orlando, Florida, to Washington, D.C., to Cleveland, Ohio, to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and to Louisville, Kentucky, to visit the saints. There are no records of his fellowship during this trip. On August 2 Brother Lee returned to Los Angeles in order to conduct the summer training. The contents of this volume are divided into six sections, as follows: 1. A series of twelve messages given in New York City on June 23 through July 11 as part of a monthlong conference and training. This series of messages is included in this volume under the title The Proper and Adequate Service to the Lord. 2. Six miscellaneous messages given in New York City from June 11 through July 5. These messages are included in this volume under the title Miscellaneous Messages Given in New York City. 3. Eight messages given in New York City on June 16 through 26 as part of a monthlong conference and training. These messages constitute the first part of a four-part series previously published under the title A General Sketch of the New Testament in the Light of Christ and the Church, Part 1. 4. Fifteen messages given in New York City on June 28 through July 11 as part of a monthlong conference and training. These messages form the second part of a four-part series previously published under the title A General Sketch of the New Testament in the Light of Christ and the Church, Part 2. 5. Eight messages given in Los Angeles on August 11 through 22 as a continuation of the series begun in New York City. These messages compose the third part of a four-part series previously published under the title A General Sketch of the New Testament in the Light of Christ and the Church, Part 3. 6. Fourteen messages given in Los Angeles on August 22 through September 5 as a continuation of the series begun in New York City. These messages comprise the fourth part of a four-part series previously published under the title A General Sketch of the New Testament in the Light of Christ and the Church, Part 4.

Regarding Brother Witness Lee's travel and his ministry, 1958 can be divided into approximately three periods. The first period is the three months from January through March, during which Brother Lee was in Manila, Philippines, in January and returned to Taipei, Taiwan, via Hong Kong in February. He then conducted three conferences and a few co-workers' meetings in March. The second period consists of the next six months, from the beginning of April through mid October. During this period Brother Lee traveled around the world, passing through Tokyo, Osaka, and Shenyu in Japan (April 8 through 22); Honolulu, San Francisco, Berkeley, Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, Pittsburgh, New York City, Washington, D.C., and Toronto in the United States and Canada (April 23 through August 1); London, Copenhagen, Glasgow, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Hamburg, Zurich, Geneva, Rome, and Athens in Europe (August 2 through September 21); Beirut, Jerusalem, and Tehran in the Middle East (September 22 through 28); Karachi, Rangoon (now Yangon), and Bangkok in South and Southeast Asia (September 29 through October 3); and Hong Kong (October 4 through 15) before returning to Taiwan on October 16. The third period consists of the last three months in Taiwan, during which time he conducted various conferences. For the first period we have records of Brother Lee's meeting with district responsible ones in Hong Kong on February 12. The three conferences that Brother Lee conducted in Taiwan in March were on the subject of enjoying God. This is the first time that Brother Lee released the light concerning this subject. In addition to the three conferences, Brother Lee conducted a number of meetings with serving ones on March 4 through 8. He also gave a series of messages on reading the Bible and another series of messages on the vision of the tree of life. The messages given during this period are included in volume 1 of this set. For the second period we have records of Brother Lee's speaking in Tokyo in April in a conference on enjoying God and records of a few private talks. There are two records of his speaking in New York and four records of his speaking in Denmark. In addition, he wrote long letters that reveal some of the meetings that took place during his trip. These letters are published in Church News in volume 1 of this set. After his visits to the United States, Europe, and the Middle East, he returned to Hong Kong in October. There he held two weeks of conferences on God's building. In the third period, upon returning to Taiwan in October, Brother Lee conducted a conference on God's building, with meetings in both the morning and the evening. In addition, he conducted various meetings with serving ones. After the conference, on Mondays and Wednesdays he gave additional messages on the subject of God's building. Almost all the messages given in the second and third periods of 1958 are included in volume 2 of this set. Some of his speaking in October and November is included in volume 1 in the section entitled The Perfecting of the Saints and the Building Up of the House of God. Eighteen personal letters and reports that appeared in Issue Nos. 1 through 18 of Church News from April 6 through December 18. They are included in this volume under the same title. 6. Twenty-one messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, in March. These messages were previously published in a book entitled How to Enjoy God and How to Practice the Enjoyment of God and are included in this volume under the same title. 7. Six messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, in March. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The Vision of the Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and are included in this volume under the same title.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1964, volume 3, contains messages and fellowship given by Brother Witness Lee from August 11 through December 10, 1964. During this period Brother Lee spent the majority of his time in Los Angeles, aside from a weekend trip to Tyler, Texas, in September, a weeklong trip in December to Seattle, Washington, and Portland, Eugene, and North Bend, Oregon, and a weekend to visit the saints in Las Vegas, Nevada. No record of his speaking on these trips has been found. The contents of this volume are divided into eight sections, as follows: 1. A series of five messages given on August 11 through 19 during the summer training in Los Angeles. These messages are included in this volume under the title Basic Principles for the Church Meetings. 2. A series of twelve messages given on August 18 through 30 during the summer training in Los Angeles. This series is included in this volume under the title The Oneness of the Body and the Service in the Church Life. 3. Messages given in Los Angeles on August 4 through 6 and September 13. Brother Lee gave four messages, which have been condensed into the three chapters of this section, entitled Prayer in Ephesians. 4. A series of twenty-four messages given from August 4 through September 2 during the summer training in Los Angeles. This series has been previously published under the title The Economy of God. 5. Three messages given in Los Angeles on August 2 and 3. These messages are included in this volume under the title Various Meetings in Los Angeles. 6. Miscellaneous messages given in Los Angeles on August 12 through 29. These messages are included in this volume under the title Miscellaneous Fellowship in Los Angeles. 7. A series of five messages given in Los Angeles on September 7 through 9. These messages are included in this volume under the title Fellowship concerning Migration. 8. Twelve messages given in various meetings in Los Angeles from September 15 through December 10. These messages are included in this volume under the title Various Fall Meetings in Los Angeles.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1964, volume 1, contains messages and fellowship given by Brother Witness Lee from February 14 through July 4, 1964. During this period of time Brother Lee gave conferences in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Blackfoot, Idaho. Also, in April he traveled to Albuquerque, New Mexico, and to three cities in Texas--Plainview, Odessa, and Tyler. Unfortunately, only the messages given in Tyler were recorded. After returning to Los Angeles for the month of May, Brother Lee traveled to New York City, where he gave messages during a monthlong conference and training from June through July. The contents of this volume are divided into ten sections, as follows: 1. Ten messages given at a conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, on February 14 through 20. This series of messages is included in this volume under the title Experiencing Christ in Our Spirit for the Church Life. 2. Five messages given at a conference in Blackfoot, Idaho, on March 8 through 11. These messages are included in this volume under the title Vessels of God. 3. Four messages given to young people at a conference in Big Bear, California, on March 24 and 25. These messages have been previously published under the title A Young Man in God's Plan. 4. Four messages given in Los Angeles on March 27 through 29. These messages have been previously published under the title The Centrality and Universality of Christ. 5. Nine messages given in a conference in Tyler, Texas, on April 24 through 29. The recorded messages were edited to form the eleven chapters of this section, which is entitled Exercising Our Spirit to Practice the Body Life. 6. Six messages given at a conference in Los Angeles on May 26 through 31 and included in this volume under the title Serving in the Body for the Carrying Out of the Lord's Recovery. 7. Nine messages given in Los Angeles during the Lord's Day meetings from January 5 through May 31. These messages are included in this volume in the section titled Lord's Day Meetings. 8. Seven miscellaneous messages given in the Los Angeles area from February 9 through June 2. These messages are compiled in this volume under the title Miscellaneous Speakings. The contents of this section were composed from personal notes taken by saints who attended the meetings. 9. A series of thirteen messages given in New York City on June 17 through July 11 as part of a monthlong conference and training. This series appears in this volume as twelve chapters under the title Knowing and Experiencing God as Life. 10. A series of ten messages given in New York City on June 22 through July 4 as part of a monthlong conference and training. This series appears in this volume under the title Standing and Functioning on the Ground of Oneness.
