The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1932-1949, volume 2, contains personal notes and messages given by Brother Witness Lee in 1936 through 1949. Historical information concerning Brother Lee's travels and the content of his ministry during this period can be found in the general preface that appears at the beginning of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1932-1949, volume 1. The contents of this volume are divided into five sections, as follows: 1. A collection of message outlines, personal notes, and diaries written in 1936 through 1949. They are included in this volume under the title Witness Lee's Personal Notes and Diaries. 2. Five articles written in 1947. These articles were published in the periodical Words of Grace and are included in this volume under the same title. 3. Sixty-two messages given in 1947 and 1948 during the resumption of Watchmen Nee's ministry. These messages were previously published together with messages given by Watchman Nee in a book entitled Messages Given during the Resumption of Watchman Nee's Ministry. The messages given by Witness Lee are included in this volume under the title Speakings Given during the Resumption of Watchman Nee's Ministry. 4. Seven articles that were published in the periodical entitled The Way from August 1 through October 1, 1948. These articles are included in this volume under the same title. 5. Five articles published in the periodical The Ministers in July through November 1948. These articles were previously published in The Collected Works of Watchman Nee, volume 55, and are included in this volume under the same title.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1988, volume 2, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee from March 21 through June 6, 1988. In the last week of March Brother Lee visited Spokane, Washington, and San Francisco, California, before he returned to Anaheim, California. In the first few days of April he visited San Jose for two days, and in the second week of April he flew to Taipei, Taiwan, and remained there until early June. The contents of this volume are divided into twelve sections, as follows: 1. Four messages given in Spokane, Washington, on March 21 through 23. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Practice of the New Way for the Organic Building Up of the Body of Christ. 2. Three messages given in Spokane, Washington, on March 21 and 22. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Perfecting, Growth, and Functioning of All the Members for the Building Up of the Body of Christ. 3. A message given in Chinese in Anaheim, California, on March 26. This message is included in this volume under the title The Supply of Life and the Building Up of Three Habits. 4. A message given in Anaheim, California, on March 27. It is included in this volume under the title Experiencing God, Christ, the Word, Faith, and the Spirit as Revealed in Galatians 3. 5. Four messages given in San Jose, California, on April 2 and 3. Two of the messages were given in Chinese, and two were given in English. These messages are included in this volume under the title Going Forth to Bear Fruit and Making the Fruit Remain. 6. A message given in Taipei, Taiwan, on April 10. It is included in this volume under the title Letting the Fire of the Gospel Burn throughout the College Campuses. 7. Four messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, on April 13 through June 6. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Leading of the New Testament Ministry and the Organic Work of the New Way. 8. Four messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, on April 13 through May 30. They are included in this volume under the title The Proper Elders' Administration of the Church and the Organic Practice of the New Way. 9. Eleven messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, on April 12 through June 3. The first ten of these messages were previously published in Chinese and English in a book entitled Words of Life from the 1988 Full-time Training. Chapter 11 was discovered later and was added to this previously published book. These eleven messages are included in this volume under the same title. 10. A message given in Taipei, Taiwan, on April 16. This message is included in this volume under the title Questions, Answers, and Fellowship concerning the Living and Service in the New Way. 11. Eight messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, on April 16 through June 5. These messages were previously published in Chinese and English in a book entitled Messages Given to the Working Saints and are included in this volume under the same title. 12. Eighteen messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, during the month of April and through May 6. They were previously published in Chinese and English in a book entitled Crucial Words of Leading in the Lord's Recovery, Book 2: Leading the Saints to Practice the New Way Ordained by the Lord and are included in this volume under the same title.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1954, volume 2, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee in January through September 1954. Historical information concerning Brother Lee's travels and the content of his ministry in 1954 can be found in the general preface that appears at the beginning of volume 1 in this set. The contents of this volume are divided into eight sections, as follows: 1. Twelve articles and reports written in an unknown location. These articles and reports were published in the hardbound edition of The Ministry of the Word in 1954 and are included in this volume under the title The Ministry of the Word, Miscellaneous Messages, 1954. 2. Twelve messages given in Hong Kong on July 17 through 28. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Center of God's Salvation and the Living Out of God. 3. Twelve messages given in Hong Kong on July 19 through 31. These messages are included in this volume under the title Working with God in the Body of Christ. 4. Five messages given in Hong Kong on July 29 through August 9. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Proper Knowledge and Learning of the Lord's Serving Ones. 5. Three messages given in Hong Kong on August 2 through 5. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Calling, Consecration, and Growth of the Young People. 6. Three messages given in Hong Kong on August 2 through 4. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Vanity of Human Life and the Way of Salvation. 7. Four messages given in Hong Kong in July and August. These messages are included in this volume under the title Records of a Few Talks in Hong Kong. 8. Eighteen messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, in August and September. These messages were previously published in a book entitled Spiritual Reality. They are included in this volume under the same title.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1988, volume 1, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee from January 3 through December 18, 1988. In 1988 Brother Lee spoke fifty-six messages that were published in the Life-study of Leviticus. These Life-study messages are not included in The Collected Works of Witness Lee. Brother Lee remained in Irving, Texas, during the first part of January 1988. He returned to Anaheim, California, in the middle of January and again traveled to Irving in February, where he remained until the first part of March. From then until the third week in March he visited Seattle, Washington; Vancouver, Canada; and Berkeley and San Jose, California. In the last week of March Brother Lee visited Spokane, Washington, and San Francisco, California, before he returned to Anaheim. In the first few days of April he visited San Jose for two days, and in the second week of April he flew to Taipei, Taiwan, and remained there until early June. He returned to Anaheim and remained there through the third week of July. In the remaining days of July he visited a number of cities in the San Francisco Bay Area, including Berkeley, Hayward, San Jose, Los Altos, and San Francisco, California. In early August he visited Spokane, and at the end of August he visited Seattle. In the last few days of August he visited Alhambra, California, and in September he traveled to Cleveland, Ohio, and Atlanta, Georgia. In early October Brother Lee visited Taipei for one month before traveling to Seoul, South Korea, and then back to Taipei, where he remained until the middle of November. He then returned to Anaheim and remained there until the middle of December. During his time in Anaheim he also ministered in Pasadena, San Gabriel, and Monterey Park, California. In mid-December he traveled to Irving and remained there through the early days of January 1989. The contents of this volume are divided into fourteen sections, as follows: 1. A message given in Irving, Texas, on January 3, 1988. This message is included in this volume under the title The New Way for the Lord's Recovery. 2. Six messages given in Chinese in Anaheim, California, on January 15 through 31. These messages are included in this volume under the title Revelations in Ephesians: Seeing the Blessings and Position of the Church in Christ. 2. Twenty-two messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, on November 3 through December 8, 1953. These messages are included in this volume under the title Revelations in Ephesians: Seeing the Living and Responsibility of the Church in the Holy Spirit. 3. A summary report, which appears in the preface of this section, followed by fourteen messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, from September through December 1953. The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1959, volume 2, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee in June 1959 through September 1961. Historical information concerning Brother Lee's travels and the content of his ministry in 1959 can be found in the general preface that appears at the beginning of volume 1 in this set. The contents of this volume are divided into five sections, as follows: 1. Fourteen messages given in Manila, Philippines; Hong Kong; and Taipei, Taiwan, on June 14 through December 14, 1959. Chapters 6 through 9 consist of messages given in Manila on June 14 through July 7, chapters 1 through 5 consist of messages given in Hong Kong on July 27 through the first part of August, and chapters 10 through 14 consist of messages given in Taipei on August 19 through December 14. These messages were previously published in a book entitled Christ Making His Home in Our Heart and the Building Up of the Church and are included in this volume under the same title. 2. Fourteen messages given in Hong Kong on July 27 through August 8, 1959. These messages were previously published in a book entitled Knowing and Experiencing God as Life and are included in this volume under the same title. 3. The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1986, volume 2, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee from March 14, 1986, through April 11, 1990. In the first week of March 1986 Brother Lee traveled to Taipei, Taiwan, where he remained until the beginning of June. From Taipei he returned to Anaheim, California, and was there for a few days before traveling to Irving, Texas, after the third week of June. The contents of this volume are divided into five sections, as follows: 1. Nineteen messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, on March 14 through June 1, 1986. They were previously published in Chinese and English in a book entitled Crucial Words of Leading in the Lord's Recovery, Book 1: The Vision and Definite Steps for the Practice of the New Way and are included in this volume under the same title. 2. Three messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, on March 14 through 21, 1986. These messages were previously published in Chinese and English in a book entitled The Vision of the Age. They are included in this volume as chapters 1 through 3 of the section entitled Crucial Words of Leading in the Lord's Recovery, Book 1: The Vision and Definite Steps for the Practice of the New Way. Therefore, they are not reprinted in this section. 3. Twelve messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, on March 18 through June 3, 1986.
