The Divine Dispensing For The Divine Economy

This book is intended as an aid to believers in developing a daily time of morning revival with the Lord in His word. At the same time, it provides a limited review of the Thanksgiving weekend conference held in Washington, D.C., on November 24-27, 2022. The general subject of the conference was “The Divine Dispensing of the Divine Trinity for the Divine Economy.” Through intimate contact with the Lord in His word, the believers can be constituted with life and truth and thereby equipped to prophesy in the meetings of the church unto the building up of the Body of Christ.

The Bible reveals that God desires to impart Himself into man for His full expression. This plan, this divine economy, is initially presented in Genesis and is progressively unveiled throughout the Old and New Testaments. Its ultimate consummation is the New Jerusalem at the end of the book of Revelation. From beginning to end, God's desire to be joined to man for His expression fills the pages of the Bible. In The Divine Economy, Witness Lee traces the flow of God's economy, from the creation of man in Genesis to its consummation in Revelation. Like a river that flows without interruption, the divine economy includes not only the creation of man as a vessel to contain God, but also the major steps taken by Christ—incarnation, crucifixion, and resurrection--in carrying out the divine economy. Through faith in Christ, redemption is applied to man and the Spirit is supplied in man as rivers of living water. In the divine economy, the rich experience and practical, daily enjoyment of God is the common portion of every believer. The believer's first step into a living enjoyment of God Himself is to see God's eternal plan, as presented in The Divine Economy.

The Divine Trinity is for God's dispensing. The matter of dispensing is revealed in Ephesians 3:2 and Colossians 1:25-27. In these verses the word stewardship has the sense of dispensing. God's stewardship is the dispensing of the processed Triune God in Christ into His chosen, redeemed, and regenerated people that He may be their life and everything, to produce the unique Body of Christ in the universe to be His corporate expression. This Body is the church in this age and the New Jerusalem in eternity.

Dispensing means to distribute. God dispenses Himself to you just as you may dispense food to your guests. Many readers of the Bible have realized that in the Gospel of John the Father is revealed, the Son is revealed, and the Spirit is revealed. But not many have realized that in the Gospel of John the Triune God—the Father, the Son, and the Spirit—is revealed for the dispensing of Himself into us first as life, then as life supply, and then as everything.
