The rain hammered against the corrugated iron roof of the decommissioned train shed, each drop a staccato note in a symphony of urban decay. Inside, nestled amidst the shadows cast by skeletal cranes and rusted tracks, sat Alex Pierce, hunched over a flickering laptop screen. The worn leather jacket did little to shield him from the biting Sydney winter, but the chill that truly consumed him emanated from the digital abyss before him.

Talents are given to us by our Lord. These talents are not necessarily just for ourselves. What can you give to others? Spinners can give their talent of spun yarns to weavers. Weavers are able to give many gifts to others. What are you wearing? What is on your bed? Do you need a basket to carry things in? Does your floor need a rug for comfort? What about your walls? For example, a tapestry for beauty may be woven or just worn for warmth if you live in a cold environment. All of the above are woven by machinery but can be handwoven. At the end of this book is a list of other books by weavers. They can be obtained in libraries, bookstores, online stores, etc. Possibly the best way would be an e-book. This book is meant to inspire those who read it to want to learn how to make useful things.

If you love ghosts stories you will bristle at this crme de le crme account of the supernatural with astounding proof of the hereafter. But this chronicle is not only about ghosts: Carl Tooley, MD, takes on his late fathers experiments. His daughter Vivian, and her ambivalence about an abortion and her vivacious presence give vitality to the story. Sam Stone, retired professor and Carls mentor is shot while in flagrant delecto along with his paramour, Lydia Domintrope. Lydias husband, a pathologist killed in WW II had removed from a crime lab, Carls fathers brain and mailed it to her where it remained in her attic for 40 years. Carls father, also, an MD, was deemed a suicide. Carl sought to prove it was not by using his fathers experiments in retrieving images from dead brains to record their memories showing via video his murderer. A deceased Bishop comes into the story. The late prelate is a ghost that is ghost ridden. Tanya Pavlov, an RN has affaire with Carl. She tells him In my country screwing is what one gives, here it is what one gets Boris Ivanovitch. Carls lab assistant whose old world humor helps keep in perspective the gravity of their experiments. In Russia we deal with spiestie balls to ankles then push downstairs. Humphry Sellers, married to bisexual African American, suffering from gender dysphoria causes him to consider suicide after she bites off his manhood. Tony Fellucci, a maverick cop, tells Carl, In your profession you examine the living in order to exploit the dead. In mine, we examine the dead in order to exploit the living Maggie, a corpulent CIA agent, coerces Carl to hand over his research, Its either you give or we take. My men can be real pricks and I a real bitch!

2020 Aesop Accolade Award J. Torres and Elbert Or celebrate 10 years of Lola: A Ghost Story, the critically-acclaimed graphic novel that explores family, grief and Filipino folklore in an all-new edition that includes a revised ending and updated illustrations. Jesse didn’t really know his Lola (the Tagalog word for grandmother), but he remembers that she tried to drown him as a baby. Strange stories surround Lola: she had visions, she fought off monsters straight out of Filipino folklore, and, according to some, she may have even seen ghosts. Now Jesse is struggling with the same visions Lola had, but Lola's not around anymore, and the rest of his family are too tied up in their own personal demons to help. Personal demons that Lola might have helped with, if she were still alive. As Jesse explores his new abilities, he realizes that he might be the one who needs to step into that role—and that helping others might just help him, too.

In this fascinating ethnohistorical case study of North American Indians, the Ghost Dance religion is the backbone for Kehoes exploration of significant aspects of American Indian life and her quest to learn why some theories become popular. In Part 1, she combines knowledge gained from her firsthand experiences living among and speaking with Indian elders with a careful analysis of historical accounts, providing a succinct yet insightful look at people, events, and institutions from the 1800s to the present. She clarifies unique and complex relationships among Indian peoples and dispels many of the false pretenses promoted by United States agencies over two centuries. In Part 2, Kehoe surveys some of the theories used to analyze the events described in Part 1, allowing readers to see how theories develop, to think critically about various perspectives, and to draw their own conclusions. Kehoes gripping presentation and analysis pave the way for just and constructive Indian-White relations.
