The Importance Of Technology To The Transcendental Future

This project was first conceived in the winter of 1981-2 and is the literary, or philosophical, sequel, in a sense, to 'The Way of Evolution', a volume of essays dating from 1981. Like that, this project also embraces technology in relation to transcendentalism, which is at the crux of its central argument, that being the importance of technology from a transcendental standpoint, and it could pose a new challenge both to how we regard technology and the purposes to which we would ideally like to see it harnessed

DAWN OF THE LIFE is a composite of two projects, viz. 'The Transcendental Future' (1980) and 'The Way of Evolution' (1981) and therefore combines dialogues with essays in a largely philosophical text which has the merit of both a lengthy introduction and a summational aphoristic appendix, as per custom for John O'Loughlin's works at this comparatively early stage of his development as a self-taught philosopher, or thinking literary writer. The 'dawn' in this instance is a new one, and the 'life' has more to do with eternity than with anything temporal, much less infinite or even finite.

CONVERGENCE is a large project in which a number of titled compilations of aphorisms and/or maxims deriving from prior publications and independent volumes have been combined into a quasi-cyclical work the contents of which, dating from 1977-84, signify a comparatively early stage in John O'Loughlin's philosophical development, during which the ideological philosophy of Social Transcendentalism was germinating and only beginning to grow into the light of metaphysical certitude.

The forty-three dialogues included here, in author John O'Loughlin's collected philosophical dialogues, span the period 1977–84, when he also wrote essays and had not as yet abandoned such genres in favour, first, of his 'supernotational writings' (as a kind of cross between essays and aphorisms) and, then, of the aphoristic and even maximistic purism (whether independently or in combined formats) which took his philosophy to greater heights of truthful insight and, in a manner of speaking, metaphysical truth. – A Centretruths Editorial
