A great Wind Storm struck the Forrest Village but because all living quarters were built underground there was no loss of life. The Animal Facility was destroyed but some of the animals had survived the storm. "Come over here, Piebald said. You are welcome to live with us." Riflemen were hired to kill survivors of the Great Wind Storm. White Angel told the Riflemen it was against the law to shoot Forrest Animals. The Riflemen left and returned with leaflets saying-"NO TRESPASSING NO SHOOTING ALLOWED." The Village Animals were saved. Piebald taught The Villagers about The Great Creator. Pierre, a French mouse was visiting the area and heard about the Animal Village. He was impressed by the work of the Village Elders. Pierre invited Piebald to help him establish a Village in Paris, France. Piebald's youngsters persuaded their Da to let them go to France instead. Pierre taught them French and they taught Pierre to speak their Village language. Joseph and Mary, two Irish mice staying at the Paris Village heard the Piebald Storytellers teachings of the Creator God and they asked Pierre to help them fly from Paris to the Forrest Village. They wanted to return to Ireland and teach the Irish animals about the Great Creator. Joseph and Mary asked Piebald and Alpha to go with them. The book closes with the four mice on their way to Paris and then on to Ireland. Dr. Gordon J. Eaton is a Ph.D. Biologist. He graduated from Brown University, Providence, R.I. Serving the needs of pigment cell biologists, cellular physiologists, developmental geneticists, researchers interested in melanoma and more, this new book showcases a blend of new technologies and new insights in the field of pigmantary genetics of mice, with comparative information on other animals. Graduate students can learn here the terminology and scope of the field, and animal fanciers can discover the genetics behind common color variants of mammals. The book is hailed for being written by four of the premier scientists in the field. These authors aim to present the molecular /cellular work in the context of phenotype and the interacting functions of genes that direct the development and function of one biological system. For other researchers, the depth of genetic knowledge on the pigmantary system makes it a valuable model for the study of other systems.

A new edition of the classic children's fantasy adventure set in a magical world of mice and rats in the sewers under London In a borough of London called Deptford there lived a community of mice. An old empty house was their home and in it they fashioned a comfortable life for themselves. People never disturbed them with traps, and because all the windows were boarded up, they never even saw a cat. The Deptford Mice live a cosy life in the skirting boards of an abandoned London house, with no humans or cats to disturb them. But something is lurking deep beneath the city. Something that threatens to destroy their cosy existence for good. In the dank sewers under the house lives a mysterious being, worshipped by a horde of bloodthirsty rats who cower in its presence... When a mouse called Albert Brown unwisely ventures down into the sewers one day, he uncovers a terrifying plot to awaken an ancient evil. Soon Albert's family and friends find themselves in a desperate struggle for their lives. Summoning all their courage, they must confront treacherous enemies and foul sorcery in a battle to save London and the world from eternal darkness. The Dark Portal is the first book in the much-loved Deptford Mice trilogy of classic dark fantasy novels, set in a magical world of peaceful mice and bloodthirsty rats.
