The Nigeria Of My Dream

The Nigerian nation is, undoubtedly, a richly blessed nation which reflects unimaginable squalor and deals consistently with self-imposed entanglements that have become walk-overs for much smaller nations. From our amalgamation in 1914, we've been on a journey together as a nation for well over a hundred years and 2020 is the sixtieth anniversary of our independence from the Britons. Today, in 2020, we are still dealing with teething problems of toddler-nations because some people at the helm of affairs only groomed their teeth and not their brains or any other capacity required to build a nation. That's why we are still dreaming for a desired nation after sixty years of independence. This book is about the hope and aspiration of a passionate Nigerian regarding the nation he would like to hand over to his children while hoping that his children will not be having the same dream but experiencing the realities of these dreams. The author hopes to see a new Nigeria in his lifetime which is clearly the responsibility of both citizens and the few in government.

MINDS IN THE WIND is a fascinating and lovely poetry book on love, sorrow, war, politics, health, peace, and nature. It is the people’s mind from different facet of life as their views, stories and feelings. The book has many spoken may voices to tell the concept of love and pain in all forms of which is a temporary feeling that only follows us to see the other face of life. It stands as the mirror of life and its deeds and then the man that dwells in it. Every feeling in reality is obviously represented in this emotional book of poetry. With very confident, my word confesses that this book will not constitute a boring moment to you but a sight to stick your eyes in because of its fascinating contents.

The ability to dream or possess positive aspirations is a gift. What is your dream and what more can you become? The Nigerian Dream is the yearning of Nigerians to possess the necessities of life, whatever that means. The Nigerian Dream has evolved over the years. At some point in time, growing up, the Nigerian dream was basically the desire to attain the middle-class level of life. The middle-class level life was characterized by a good college degree, a nice apartment, and a personal or official work car with which I could take my family to the worship place on Sundays, or Fridays, and to the grocery store, cinema, or the games, on Saturdays. The dream at the time, took for granted the security of life and property, motorable roads, a functional and safe train and air transportation system, and peaceful coexistence amongst the sub-nationalities of Nigeria. The Nigerian dream or the Nigeria of my dream has become elusive for me, and I bet, for most of the over 200 million people living in Nigeria. I, like many other Nigerians had to migrate to other countries to, as they say, seek the greener pastures and to pursue a more functional education opportunity. I migrated to the United States of America, but was that the solution? I ran into the shock of bills (no free lunch) and the continuation of the rat race, from the Nigerian Dream to the American Dream. But did the American society inspire hope for the American Dream versus the Nigerian society and any hope that an honest Nigerian could realize the Nigerian Dream? This book is a memoir of sorts, with the thoughts of a concerned citizen, and it contains skills for citizen-leadership productive engagement in nation building, specifically for Project Nigeria, and perhaps for any other country in search of its unique identity and a path to national cohesion and development. What America represents may remain a question, but the American dream appears substantially vivid to many people. This may not be true for the numerous African Americans and other minorities thrown into the somewhat elusive dream for equality under the law (same law for every citizen), liberty, and the freedom to have a fair shot at the opportunities (not handouts) to prosper, succeed, and own a business and a home. But what is the Nigerian Dream? Questions, questions, and more questions.

The book evaluates the unrelenting waves of ethno-religious and political conflicts with regards to the danger posed to the emerging democratic process in Nigeria by exploring the prevalence of ethno-religious conflicts in Nigeria as an upshot of predisposed confliction of colonialism, heightened by military authoritarianism and consolidated by the contradictions entrenched in the Nigerian federalism. It is against the ambience of extreme ethnic agitations and hostilities in the recent times, that the initiative of this book is predicated on spotlighting conflicts in Nigeria and Africa by extension whilst accentuating the escalation of violence amid implication for national security and the countrys corporate existence.

Wasting a dream is like wasting a life, and a life without a dream is a hopeless one. We don't dream to attract attention or recognition; to be applauded by families and well-wishers. We do dream because our lives are dependent on it. 'Real dreamers' never quit, even when it seems like giving up. They are aware of the fact that the dreams they possess are tried and tested. They comprehend that without the hurdles, these dreams fail to survive the test of time. No man prays for his dreams to be opposed; but the fact still remains: It's inevitable. 'Literal dreamers' only imagine and assume. They paint the maginified pictures of their lives but never strive to make them happen. ‘Real dreamers’ never deal with assumptions; they believe and act. One thing is to dream, and another, to act on it to make it a reality. It's biblically written that faith without work is dead. A dream without an effort hits the rock. So therefore, keep your aspirations alive with the right nutrients. As long as you can breath, your 'dreams' can breathe also. «Living Beyond Your Dream World» is a book which will energize your body, soul and spirit to be part of the 'Dream Census'; thus, making the dream alive.
