The son of John Vincent and brother of Nathaniel Vincent, both prominent theologians and ministers, Thomas was born at Hertford in 1634, studied theology at Westminster, and then served in Leicester, Cambridge, London, and Hoxton, England. Vincent was imprisoned several times for his preaching and opposing the intrusion of England's Government into the religious life. He died on 15 October 1678.
