This book is written in the form of a devotional. It consists of my minisermons as posted daily on social media. It addresses the tussles we encounter daily. It is good for spiritual maturity, relationships, and wisdom. A devotional journal, compared to a memoir, should have some uplifting qualities and should be inspiring and illuminating. Thats what this book is intended to accomplish. This book will help you discover your purpose for living and hence your divine destiny. What you believe about God defines your life. Losing sight of God causes us to lose who we are really are. The Word is a prism through which we filter our changing self-image. Gods primary goal is to change us so that we can see as He sees. Christ Himself became wisdom from God to us in order for us (the church) to display the multifarious wisdom of God to the whole universe. God may not fix everything broken in your life now, but He is willing to renew your thinking so that you are able to think as He would have you think, desire what He says is best, and do what He calls you to do. This book could be a viable clutch missing at your fingertips, greatly needed in a culture in which post-truth is the word of the yearI mean todays culture where people are economical with the truth, where people sweeten it or tell the truth improved.

This novel, an Indian sensation, describes a young man's growing up and coming to grips with sexuality with delicious and often-hilarious detail, but it is about much more: political, ironic, and "an indictment of colonialism" (The Hindu). This comic novel of childhood, coming of age, of modern Indian manhood, and an American Dream was described as "humorous and manic" by The Independent of London, and as personifying "the post-Independence Indian male." It has also been adapted for the stage and played to many standing room only audiences. "Hilarious."--Time Out. "Indefatigable good humor, charm"--Publishers Weekly. "A comic timing never seen in any Indian novel to date."--The Indian Express "Should be a recognized classic. An Indian Catcher in the Rye"--Mark Ledbetter, Author and Professor of Linguistics Keywords: Coming of Age, Indian novel, Contemporary India, Indian society, the Male Experience, Literary Fiction, Sexual Repression, Indian Christians, Indian Catholics, Konkani language, Indian Comic Novel, Politically Incorrect, Men and Women, American Dream, Immigrant American Writers, Asian writers, Asian-American fiction

The story Luke tells in his gospel, says F. Scott Spencer, is “a compelling, complex narrative confession of faith in God. To what degree anyone joins Luke in that faith journey is up to them, but any responsible interpreter must attend considerately to Luke’s theological roadmap.” In this latest addition to the Two Horizons New Testament Commentary series, Spencer integrates close textual analysis of Luke’s unfolding narrative with systematic theology, spiritual formation, philosophical inquiry, and psychological research. With section-by-section commentary, Spencer highlights the overriding salvific message that runs through Luke’s gospel. Pastors, scholars, and students alike will benefit from Spencer’s insight into Luke’s theological significance.

During the early twentieth century, a diverse group of African American women carved out unique niches for themselves within New York City's expansive informal economy. LaShawn Harris illuminates the labor patterns and economic activity of three perennials within this kaleidoscope of underground industry: sex work, numbers running for gambling enterprises, and the supernatural consulting business. Mining police and prison records, newspaper accounts, and period literature, Harris teases out answers to essential questions about these women and their working lives. She also offers a surprising revelation, arguing that the burgeoning underground economy served as a catalyst in working-class black women TMs creation of the employment opportunities, occupational identities, and survival strategies that provided them with financial stability and a sense of labor autonomy and mobility. At the same time, urban black women, all striving for economic and social prospects and pleasures, experienced the conspicuous and hidden dangers associated with newfound labor opportunities.
