After all the hardships chronicled in the second installment in the series, C.C. and the lads elect to take a year off to reflect and recharge. C.C. takes a vacation in Las Vegas and once there, decides to take up permanent residence and call it home. After a year apart Rizzo, Oscar, and Felix join him...and the rest is history. C.C. and the boys soon find themselves handling some of the most important contracts of their carreer as professional assassins through an old friend that had vanished years earlier. The lads also finally get a chance to start their community service work cleaning up some of the garbage that has fallen through the cracks of the justice system. This installment, possibly the last in the series, recounts and encapsulates the final years of C.Cs career and affirms his position as one of the most revered and feared professional assassins in the history of organized crime. Frankie Callahan is a man walking the thin line between sanity and insanity. From the time his father died when he was a child and his mother had to move him and his brother Pete to the notorious south end of Boston, life had become little more than a seemingly endless series of disappointments and heartaches. At age twenty Pete was killed in a gang shooting; years later Frankie lost his mom to cancer; and then the final insult; finding out purely by accident that Naomi, his wife of ten years had not only been poisoning him for the money his mother left him but was also carrying on an adulterous affair with his stepfather as part of an insurance scam which was cut short by Frankie's moms untimely and unexpected passing from cancer. Frankie had become the new target. But after years of excusing her psychologically abusive behavior towards him due to his kind nature and the fact that he for some reason loved her deeply he reached his breaking point and decided that Naomi and his beloved stepfather would have to pay the ultimate price and die for their sins. After careful planning and research Frankie decides to transform himself into the most unlikely of killers in this game of kill me if you can' only to find himself hopelessly lost in the murky psychological abyss that exists in the desolate badlands between fantasy and reality he had ventured too far; INTO THE UNDERNEATH!

What is death? Do people survive death? What do we mean when we say that someone is "dying"? Presenting a clear and engaging discussion of the classic philosophical questions surrounding death, this book studies the great metaphysical and moral problems of death. In the first part, Feldman shows that a definition of life is necessary before death can be defined. After exploring several of the most plausible accounts of the nature of life and demonstrating their failure, he goes on to propose his own conceptual scheme for death and related concepts. In the second part, Feldman turns to ethical and value-theoretical questions about death. Addressing the ancient Epicurean ethical problem about the evil of death, he argues that death can be a great evil for those who die, even if they do not exist after death, because it may deprive them of the goods they would have enjoyed if they had continued to live. Confrontations with the Reaper concludes with a novel consequentialist theory about the morality of killing, applying it to such thorny practical issues as abortion, suicide, and euthanasia.
