This is a collaboration between 2 brothers, one in poetry, the other in music. collection of poems remembered by Calabrians in Canada. Also music of the southern Calabian tambourine.

Characterized by his personal style of elegance, clarity, and brevity, Rudin presents in the first part of the book his early memories about his family history, his boyhood in Vienna throughout the 1920s and 1930s, and his experiences during World War II. Part II offers samples of his work, in which he relates where problems came from, what their solutions led to, and who else was involved.

I will always be in debt to the many good people I was lucky to meet and walk the roads of life with. This book is about them. About the times we lived together. About the many ways life united us and pushed us around. About the dead and the living who deserve more than gratitude. It is also about all the wonderful places which revealed their beauty, riches, character, and were my home, where i learned to look at the trees as living and breathing systems, to follow the birds in their flight, and to listen to the winds of times.

The era of racism, the dawning of rock and roll music, and an angelic visit - all events that helped shape the man as he is today. The story demonstrates how all of these events affected the writer personally and deeply. The reader is engrossed by the struggle of the boy trying to heed the morals and values instilled by family and church, keeping those intact while attempting to balance them with societal demands and the clash of surviving the mean streets of Brooklyn.

In this remarkable book, Sliammon Elder Elsie Paul collaborates with a scholar, Paige Raibmon, and her granddaughter, Harmony Johnson, to tell her life story and the history of her people, in her own words and storytelling style.
