The Window Of My Soul

I pay homage to the prophetic anointing on the life of this great man and woman of God, Bishop Thomas Weeks, III and Prophetess Christina Glenn Weeks.

As a young girl, I sat by my bedroom window dreaming about what my life would be, hoping for a better destiny, but not being able to see out because of the chaos within. Growing up facing trails after trails, I learned the power of faith. In my journey, I was able to see through the eyes of God and overcome obstacles, and I never gave up. Th rough my book, Th e Window of My Soul, a Journey of Hope, it is my heart’s desire to inspire and empower you to live your best life now and to help you break barriers that have been holding you hostage and keeping you from making your dreams a reality. All things are possible if you believe!

The Window to My Soul is an empirical experience, essentially aimed to demonstrate how powerful we, as humans, really are and that when we come to terms with our impediments and make decisions to fight, victory finally becomes ours. As I reached the end of my script, I realized that I needed to complete the preface to the book (in the making). Thinking about the past, a past that Ive put behind me, I also realized that I had to bring those experiences into the present in order for me to make sense of what had really happened to me. As I structured and completed my thoughts, I eventually found the courage to put the past back to where it belonged. This book covers my experiences over a period of time, and I felt that I had to make sense of those happenings that took place around me while I was in a state of total confusion. The stroke that I suffered was one of the key issues with which I had to deal; the damage to my brain had been so severe that I could hardly grasp the full severity of what was happening to me or comprehend or come to terms with what was happening to me at the time. But I knew I had to survive in the ever-changing world around me.

Window To My Soul is a compilation of unpublished poems written by Carolyn G. Furio, a creative writer and poet who shared her writings with her friends, family, neighbors, and community with every opportunity provided. The author was a native of Salem County New Jersey where she spent her entire life until her death in 2012. Carolyn wrote poetry since her early childhood and enjoyed using the medium to deal with life experiences. The poems in this book capture an array of topics, from nature, seasons and holidays, everyday life, and dealing with the powerful emotions of love and loss, failing health and the anticipation of death. An astute observer of life, her greatest joy was enabling others to cope with life-altering events and to recall special moments through her poetry. Other publications by the author include Shards of Life (1990), The Heart Can Be Like Winter (1991), Indian Giver (1992), Old Barns and Old Dogs (1994), and Just Touch Me (2000).

This is a collection of Poems which popped within me during my days of lonely ruminations. These are windows through which you can peep within me, my soul, my heart and listen to my deep murmurs and tap dance to the beat that allays basic human fears that grows within us all.
