This Is Not A Pipe Dream

What does it mean to write "This is not a pipe" across a bluntly literal painting of a pipe? René Magritte's famous canvas provides the starting point for a delightful homage by French philosopher and historian Michel Foucault. Much better known for his incisive and mordant explorations of power and social exclusion, Foucault here assumes a more playful stance. By exploring the nuances and ambiguities of Magritte's visual critique of language, he finds the painter less removed than previously thought from the pioneers of modern abstraction.

This is a short autobiographical summary of the author's (myself's) life. It is, as you'll find out, stories from the first 25 years of my life. It contains many experiences that I have been through. As well as few surprises here and there. There is also some fictional writing in there, however none of that is written in a poetical sense and you'll be able to spot it fairly easily. I have attempted to convey some meaning from life into some of the stories that I have lived through. I just hope that you the reader will find some enjoyment from them!

My Wheels in the World is nonfiction, but it is much more than that. It is a true account. This book entails my life experiences with my bicycle: where I've gone, what I've done, who I have ridden with, and all my adventures to this day I have enjoyed with my bike. It speaks of how it is truly my greatest passion and the one thing I spend most of my time doing and how much I love it. It describes how my bicycle is so much more than just a possession. It's a story about how my bike is a part of my life and has, perhaps, even defined my life and is an extension of who I am as a person. This book tells of feelings and emotions and combines the things I love most: riding my bicycle and writing about it.
