Before issuing another edition it was thought best to make a thorough revision, with some additions which appear in the appendix. As the topical method of teaching and studying history is now recognized as the only true way, the Outlines have been made more full and complete and the questions more searching. While it is possible that some important points in our history have not directly been touched upon, yet it is believed that the book will afford quite a complete course in the History and the Constitution of the United States.
