This is my first travel guide in the new series "Visual Hiking Guide" for wonderful Patagonia, of course, fully updated for 2021/22 seasons. I decided to create this new series to help skilled hikers and ordinary travelers to trek through complex terrain of Torres del Paine National Park (TdPNP) with confidence, safety, and knowledge of the place by using graphical content: infographics, detailed topo maps, schemes, drawings, and pictures with some flavor as text. Such presentation of the data will ease the use of the travel guide in field, will make it more versatile and practical for any age, level of English or background knowledge. The guide contains: all prices, new park rules, timetables, bookings, how to get in by buses, planes, and catamarans, where to stay and eat and how much it will cost, all conditions for accommodation, plus, - detailed description of 11 major hikes in the "W" and "O" circuits, as well as 4 additional less-known, secret hiking trails in the park. The guide also provides 100+ precise GPS coordinates for all sightseeing, viewpoints, trailheads and trail splits, footbridges, walking boards, suspension bridges, Campings, Refugios and Hotels, shops and restaurants. 17 hiking maps depict topography of the terrain, major and sidewalk trails, river and canyon crossing, glaciers and lakes, sightseeing. In addition, there is info for each hike regarding hiking distance, complexity, altitude with elevation profiles.

This is a "budget" version of the travel guide (reduced production costs), instead of fully colorful pages inside (standard version), it has black and white (b/w) interior, - the colors are nice to have, but not essential and can be sacrificed to minimize printing costs, yet, the book delivers all necessary information as the standard version. A breathtaking celebration of Instagram's premier solo female travel community, featuring 200 striking photographs—most of them all-new—plus empowering messages and practical tips for solo travelers. “For those with passports full of stories, this book carries you away to every dreamy corner of the earth. I can’t stop flipping through these visually incandescent pages to see where I’m capable of traveling to next!”—Caila Quinn, The Bachelor contestant and lifestyle and travel influencer From backpackers in Peru to artists in Berlin to storytellers in Morocco, Dame Traveler celebrates the diversity and bravery of women from around the world who are not afraid to think (and live) outside the box. The revolutionary Dame Traveler Instagram account was founded by Nastasia Yakoub, who was born into a strict Chaldean-Middle Eastern community where women are expected to marry young and put aside other personal ambitions. But at the age of twenty, Nastasia embarked on a solo trip to South Africa to volunteer at an orphanage in Cape Town, which sparked a love of world travel. Recognizing a void in the travel industry, she founded Dame Traveler, the first female travel community on Instagram, now more than half a million strong. Nastasia herself has traveled to sixty-three countries on solo adventures, sharing colorful photos of her tantalizing travels along the way. Dame Traveler celebrates these women with a photographic collection of 200 stunning images paired with inspiring captions, 80% of which have never been seen on the Instagram account. Organized into sections on architecture, culture, nature, and water, each entry features travel information, plus tips, advice, unique solo-travel experiences, and wisdom from contributing globe-trotters to embolden the next generation of Dame Travelers.

"Patagonia Chronicle: On Foot in Torres del Paine" enables readers to gain a sense of the rewards and challenges of travel south of the 40th parallel in Chile and Argentina-in the area known as Patagonia. Through a combination of journal entries, interviews, historic documents, and essays on subjects unique to the region, the reader samples the richness of the land and its peoples past and present. In addition, readers will find a wealth of practical information including tips on pre-trip planning, transportation, and accommodations. The book is for anyone contemplating a hike in Chile's most famous park. Hikers en route to Torres del Paine will benefit from the detailed park information. They'll find descriptions of the accommodations, trekking routes, and trails as well as maps, time and mileage charts, suggested itineraries, and a trail elevation profile. However, "Patagonia Chronicle" is more than a guide to trekking in that spectacular park: it casts a much larger net. As such, this book will appeal not only to hikers, but also to travelers of all stripes. Besides Torres del Paine, readers discover the gateway towns that most Patagonian travelers enjoy exploring such as: Punta Arenas, Puerto Natales, and El Calafate. They visit Los Glaciares National Park-home of Perito Moreno Glacier and Mount Fitz Roy. Travelers will also find insider information about touring Chile's and Argentina's more temperate Lake Districts and several other national parks inside and outside of Patagonia. They'll learn about Ushuaia-the "End of the World," and hub for visits to Antarctica. And, because most travelers to Patagonia will spend some time in Santiago or Buenos Aires on their way farther south, they'll find the colorful chapters on those capital cities helpful. Finally, an underlying question raised in the book: how to gauge the risks and confront the fears that must be overcome when seeking adventure in unknown territory can be helpful and inspiring to any hiker, backpacker, or climber. In "Patagonia Chronicle" we learn that the author wants to backpack the Torres del Paine back country circuit, but she knows that the trek can range from a moderate activity to a life-threatening one-depending on the extremely unpredictable weather. In life there are always demons to slay: how does one decide when to continue on and when to turn back?

This is a budget version of the travel guide with reduced printing costs; it is black and white (b/w) inside. The book is an unique and the most complete "smart" travel guide, which I made, at first, to be solely used in my own, after buying so many travel guides and still feeling - they aren't good enough for my adventures to explore wilderness as a biologist and wildlife/travel photographer. I was missing it during my trip to Patagonia in 2017, otherwise, I would be much more efficient as a wildlife photographer and traveler. This is my second book in the "wilderness explorer" series (first one I wrote about Peninsula Valdes, see it at 13 Amazon webstores: www.amazon.com/dp/B078RC9QC2), which I hope, will be a good "practical tool", an all-to-know set of guide books for you (for me as well), while you are exploring the world with responsible mind and open heart as a truly nature lover. The book contains 90 GPS coordinates of important to know places, 40 website links, covering all the important campsites, hotels, viewpoints, trails, key sightseeing, it has a detailed trekking map, and 14 photographs I made in March-April 2017. The book first describes how to get in/out the park, all park's updated rules and prices, then how to design your trekking route and how to book all accommodation in the park and nearby. In addition to popular "W" and "O" trekking circuits in the park, I give information about another 6 less-known, secret "off-the-bitten-pass" trails. I also give all the details for wild and paid camping, hotels, hostels, domes, cabins, food stores, roads conditions, travel scenarios, public buses, prices for touristic services, paid tours, wildlife safaris, fishing, kayaking, horseback riding. At the end of the guide, I give detailed information what kind of wild animals and where you can meet in the park (puma, condors, huemul, guanaco, fox) and their behavior. I also describe where you can find fossils from Jurassic Era of ichthyosaur, of a large prehistoric marine dolphin-like predator, or to see ancient cave paintings of indigenous tribes lived here 3000-8000 years ago. The book can be equally useful for "budget" adventure seekers, solo/group travelers, "fast & easy" with a rented car/campers or travel agency users as well as for paid wildlife and travel photographers on a mission.Printed versions of the book just went far beyond of my anticipations; quality is highest standard possible, they are rather small (15x23 cm), light-weight (only 150 g each), fully colorful inside with maps and GPS coordinates, pages are robustly made and glued, the cover is made of water-repellent paper, books are flexible, you can bend them, nothing will happen... though, they are ideal to put them into your backpack and use them while you travel through wonderful Patagonia... Enjoy and take care!
