THE ADVENTURES OF MARSHAL GABBY TUCKER VOLUME ONE: "FAMILY TIES IN THE WEST" In this "Western" novel about the Tucker family, their youngest son, "Lefty" had been kidnapped along with three Indian children by two really mean and greedy men who intended on selling them. Lefty was the youngest son of Marshal Gabby Tucker and his wife Maggie. The Tucker family actually consisted of six separate Tucker families, and they each also had boys, so there was no chance of their family name every dying out. The Tucker families join forces with the Indians in an effort to find their missing children. All of the Tucker women join in the search for Lefty also, and are as good with guns as their men and fight by their sides when needed. One of the Tucker women is a doctor and tends to all of the wounded with the help of some Indian squaws and two other Tucker women. The Indians called her "Doctor Jo"; her name was Jo Ann. All concerned thought that she was an incredible doctor. Two of the Tucker women, who were mountain women from Tennessee went out looking for their husbands alone because they were lonely and feared the worst. They could rough the outdoors and terrain because of their "Tom Boyish" style. They loved their flat land men, and wanted to see them alive. The story shows love, compassion, and desperation, but on the flip side of that it also encompasses fighting, shooting, torturing, and killing too. There are so many side scenes along the way through this book; you'll find yourself laughing and then just minutes later you are brought to tears. This is an incredibly great book; you won't be able to put it down! Authors: Jeff and Margaret Pyron Book I.D. # 58247

A collection of essays about Armenian identity and belonging in the diaspora. In the century since the Armenian Genocide, Armenian survivors and their descendants have written of a vast range of experiences using storytelling and activism, two important aspects of Armenian culture. Wrestling with questions of home and self, diasporan Armenian writers bear the burden of repeatedly telling their history, as it remains widely erased and obfuscated. Telling this history requires a tangled balance of contextualizing the past and reporting on the present, of respecting a culture even while feeling lost within it. We Are All Armenian brings together established and emerging Armenian authors to reflect on the complications of Armenian ethnic identity today. These personal essays elevate diasporic voices that have been historically silenced inside and outside of their communities, including queer, multiracial, and multiethnic writers. The eighteen contributors to this contemporary anthology explore issues of displacement, assimilation, inheritance, and broader definitions of home. Through engaging creative nonfiction, many of them question what it is to be Armenian enough inside an often unacknowledged community.

The Sixth Son is the second novel of a trilogy on human trafficking involving US Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and their relentless effort to curb Mexican cartel shipments of kidnapped women and children across the US border. Unlike the prequel, The Old Cop, which involved a retired US Agent, Agustín Camelia's intrepid efforts to battle this evil, The Sixth Son concerns the struggles of a highly regarded Maryland family, the Mancinis, who recently made a bizarre discovery about their late patriarch, Geovani Mancini, who migrated to the US from Sicily in 1939 with the assistance of Sicilian mafia members. Unknown dubious New York relations now threaten to tear the family apart. Geovani Mancini's sons and daughter, who now run the family business, agree to withhold these findings from the rest of the family until a private investigator thoroughly investigates. Meanwhile, unrelated to the familial turmoil, a young grandson and college student, Alex Mancini, has accepted a job as an intern with HSI while finishing his master's degree. Among his duties is interviewing recent victims of human trafficking and preparing them for court testimony. The case involves twenty-seven women rescued by HSI in La Vergne, Tennessee, two months prior. While interacting with HSI Special Agents on this investigation, Alex learns about Camelia's contributions to the case and his mysterious disappearance in Mexico. Gripped with the story, he volunteers to determine his current whereabouts. Alex's probe places him in the crosshairs of the Mexican cartel members, who are poised to retaliate against US intruders.
