5th Kuala Lumpur International Conference On Biomedical Engineering 2011

The Biomed 2011 brought together academicians and practitioners in engineering and medicine in this ever progressing field. This volume presents the proceedings of this international conference which was hold in conjunction with the 8th Asian Pacific Conference on Medical and Biological Engineering (APCMBE 2011) on the 20th to the 23rd of June 2011 at Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The topics covered in the conference proceedings include: Artificial organs, bioengineering education, bionanotechnology, biosignal processing, bioinformatics, biomaterials, biomechanics, biomedical imaging, biomedical instrumentation, BioMEMS, clinical engineering, prosthetics.

It is with great pleasure that we present to you a collection of over 200 high quality technical papers from more than 10 countries that were presented at the Biomed 2008. The papers cover almost every aspect of Biomedical Engineering, from artificial intelligence to biomechanics, from medical informatics to tissue engineering. They also come from almost all parts of the globe, from America to Europe, from the Middle East to the Asia-Pacific. This set of papers presents to you the current research work being carried out in various disciplines of Biomedical En- neering, including new and innovative researches in emerging areas. As the organizers of Biomed 2008, we are very proud to be able to come-up with this publication. This volume presents the processing of the 15th ICMBE held from 4th to 7th December 2013, Singapore. Biomedical engineering is applied in most aspects of our healthcare ecosystem. From electronic health records to diagnostic tools to therapeutic, rehabilitative and regenerative treatments, the work of biomedical engineers is evident. Biomedical engineers work at the intersection of engineering, life sciences and healthcare.
