Fame, wealth, power and fleeting pleasures are transient and have no eternal value. Doing the will of God is enduring and is what really count forever. We are all presently on a journey through life that will end in death. But we can make it a journey from death to life abundant by living it with Yahweh God and in Him. Jesus Christ, the only perfect man, has made this possible in reconciling us to God by dying in our place and cleansing us. This makes it possible for God to dwell in us by His Spirit to help us to overcome sin and live life pleasing to Him. Jesus always does the things that are pleasing to the Father (Jn 8: 29). He loves the Father and does exactly what the Father has commanded him (Jn 14: 31). Jesus’ secret is not to seek to do his own will but the will of God (Jn 5: 30). God wants us to be like Jesus and be conformed to his likeness (Rom 8: 29) and to live with God’s self-giving love. This is a way of life or mentality that “does nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility counts others more important than ourselves” (Phil 2: 3) through God’s enabling. It is in this way that there will be real peace and righteousness. This is what this book is about. We are on probation on earth to point others to God by our words and our life.

A spellbinding novel about transience and mortality, by one of the most original voices in American literature The Silk Road begins on a mat in yoga class, deep within a labyrinth on a settlement somewhere in the icy north, under the canny guidance of Jee Moon. When someone fails to arise from corpse pose, the Astronomer, the Archivist, the Botanist, the Keeper, the Topologist, the Geographer, the Iceman, and the Cook remember the paths that brought them there—paths on which they still seem to be traveling. The Silk Road also begins in rivalrous skirmishing for favor, in the protected Eden of childhood, and it ends in the harrowing democracy of mortality, in sickness and loss and death. Kathryn Davis’s sleight of hand brings the past, present, and future forward into brilliant coexistence; in an endlessly shifting landscape, her characters make their way through ruptures, grief, and apocalypse, from existence to nonexistence, from embodiment to pure spirit. Since the beginning of her extraordinary career, Davis has been fascinated by journeys. Her books have been shaped around road trips, walking tours, hegiras, exiles: and now, in this triumphant novel, a pilgrimage. The Silk Road is her most explicitly allegorical novel and also her most profound vehicle; supple and mesmerizing, the journey here is not undertaken by a single protagonist but by a community of separate souls—a family, a yoga class, a generation. Its revelations are ravishing and desolating.

An inspirational memoir of one man’s transformation after being near-death and witnessing the selfless acts of others. One day, while leaving a routine doctor’s appointment, Kevin asks his doctor a simple question that later proves to save, extend, and profoundly change his life—a question he believes is divinely inspired. Life 2.0 follows Kevin’s journey through open-heart surgery and recovery. But, more than that, this is the story of the impact little things can have when people open their hearts. As Kevin journeys through recovery and rehabilitation, he starts to notice the selfless little things others do—and develops a new perspective on life. Coupled with encounters with Angels, Kevin’s new life is molded into a life of profound physical, emotional, and spiritual change, and he decided to call it Life 2.0. An inspiration for healthcare providers, patients, and their families, Life 2.0 demonstrates how the little things can profoundly impact the lives of others and how anyone, if they so choose, can live their own Life 2.0. “Kevin has not only redefined the world around him, but his ability to inspire and motivate others in the path of happiness and faith-filled living is remarkable! His love for family and care for all those who meet him have inspired me to be a better version of myself . . . imagine the world if we all rejoiced as Kevin does in Life 2.0.” —Susan K. Take a heart-lifting journey into the great unknown ... In Bringing Death to Life, well-known author Patricia Scanlan, along with soul friends and metaphysical healers Dr Mary Helen Hensley, Aidan Storey and Pamela Young, shine a light into an area that they believe needs to become part of the ordinary conversation of life, not to be feared or avoided in our communications, but recognised, understood, accepted: death. Patricia, whose experience of the loss of her parents was the catalyst for this book, shares her own journey through grief, while Aidan, Mary Helen and Pamela -- who have abilities to channel, communicate with angels, and intuit and heal between this life and the next -- share personal experiences along with insight into death and the afterlife gained through their work. Included are chapters on facing fear of death, being present during death of a loved one, the aftermath of loss, and connecting to signs and messages from beyond, along with remarkable stories of the afterlife in the everyday. Prayers, affirmations and messages from the angels also make up this special, thought-provoking and ultimately deeply comforting book.

Dying Out Loud is the story of Stan, his wife, Ann, their children Elle and Stanley, and their dedication to following God no matter what the cost. They traded the comforts of suburban southern California for the crowded cobblestone streets of the Middle East. They explored remote areas and they befriended nomadic tribes people, courageously bringing a message of hope and freedom to those needing to hear it.But none of those adventures would compare to where God led them next: a journey of visions, revelations, and sorrow. A journey into stage-four cancer, and a journey that beckoned them to walk the shrouded path through the Valley of the Shadow of Death.Yet even there they discovered peace, grace, and a new hope for the lost around them.
