This was probably Tiff' s toughest week ever. A short(ish) but very moving story about first job and first love, about friendship and family, with a strong underlying message about the inevitability of change and finding who you are in the world.

At home, Reggie—the only grandad she's ever known—has quit smoking and diagnosed himself as a cactus, and then Kayla hits her with some big news. And into all this stumbles Davey, who plays rugby but quotes Truman Capote, and is the first boy who has ever really wanted to know her. Tiff is smart with words and rarely does tears, but in one short week she discovers that words don't always get you there; they don't let you say all the stuff from deep in your heart.

John Morgan Mullen attended Michigan State University, where he married his college sweetheart and earned a BA in communication arts. He was a quarterback for Michigan State University on two National Championship teams in 1965 and 1966. John has two children, Todd and Stephanie, and is a grandfather to Jake, Brennan, and Hailey. John’s new book, “Straight from the Heart,” started in lieu of greeting cards and expanded as a way to express his inner feelings. His collection talks about the ventures he and his wife Jill took and the inspirational life lessons he’s learned along the way. The words in “Straight from the Heart” will always remain dear to John’s heart as his wife lost a battle with cancer and will now have to read his touching tribute from heaven.
