This is Tsa Sohone's second assignment from the Psyplex (central core of the collective consciousness) and this time, the former Caddo Xinesi's (Shaman's) life energy is sent to the body of Logan Gortner and is directed by the Psyplex to take control of the body of the retired financial advisor after sixty-two years of being a subordinate soul within. Joining Tsa Sohone and Logan are several other life energies from the Psyplex, some familiar ones like Old Blue the mule from his first adventure, and some new and interesting ones; ones that will play important roles as Tsa Sohone struggles to carry out his assigned task, again in Arkansas, but now in the year 2012. The mission assigned to him this time revolves around the jaguar pendant that was found in little Jenny's hand the day she was born in 1878 and was passed down in her family, all the way to its current owner and relative, Logan Gortner. The mysterious appearance of the pendant in the infant's hand was never solved, but now, Tsa Sohone has the chance to find out the origin of the necklace and the importance it will play during the second half of the Sun's life that starts the day after the end of the Mayan calendar on December 21, 2012. Tsa Sohone must first determine the role the pendant plays and then unlock the secret the pendant holds to successfully complete the mission assigned him by the Psyplex. As in his first adventure from the Psyplex, he encounters many obstacles and endures several trials in his quest to solve the mystery of the jaguar pendant.

This true story of the adolescence years of an individual are so brutal, it makes one stop and think, how could this be. Finding herself in many roles, trying to please her husband, being a loving mother and adopting to a new family. In and out of consciousness, battered and gasping for breath, she heard her attacker's voice saying "if you run, I'll drown you." Her memory of that event, getting home at daybreak, where she collapsed startles her back to reality. As time passes, she faces situations never imagined. The brutality and neglect of this innocent child, who needed the love and protection of loving parents, found herself in a fight for her life and safety for her children.

utoimmunity is the downstream outcome of a rather extensive and coordinated series of events that include loss of self-tolerance, peripheral lymphocyte Aactivation, disruption of the blood-systems barriers, cellular infiltration into the target organs and local inflammation. Cytokines, adhesion molecules, growth factors, antibodies, and other molecules induce and regulate critical cell functions that perpetuate inflammation, leading to tissue injury and clinical phenotype. The nature and intensity of this response as well as the physiological ability to restore homeostasis are to a large extent conditioned by the unique amino acid sequences that define allelic variants on each of the numerous participating mol ecules. Therefore, the coding genes in their germline configuration play a primary role in determining who is at risk for developing such disorders, how the disease progresses, and how someone responds to therapy. Although genetic components in these diseases are clearly present, the lack of obvious and homogeneous modes of transmission has slowed progress by prevent ing the full exploitation of classical genetic epidemiologic techniques. Furthermore, autoimmune diseases are characterized by modest disease risk heritability and m- tifaceted interactions with environmental influences. Yet, several recent discoveries have dramatically changed our ability to examine genetic variation as it relates to human disease. In addition to the development of large-scale laboratory methods and tools to efficiently recognize and catalog DNA diversity, over the past few years there has been real progress in the application of new analytical and data-manage ment approaches.

Conflict between the Israelis and the Palestinians has been ongoing since the creation of the state of Israel, a conflict revolving around land-ownership, water politics, human rights, and religious rights. 'Shalom/Salaam/Peace' examines the realities of life in contemporary Israel/Palestine, with its politics, wars, security wall, settlements and ongoing struggles. Having established the historical, scriptural and theological context behind the present situation, the book presents key figures who have promoted peace and justice and explores liberation theology as a way of bringing peace in Israel/Palestine. Combining the history of liberation theology with its lived reality in Israel/Palestine today, 'Shalom/Salaam/Peace' is an illuminating resource for students and scholars of politics and religion.

For over forty years, John Garvey was the “ballast” of Commonweal magazine. His award-winning essays and consistently notable columns revealed not only his acuity and alacrity, but his uncommon spiritual insight. These in turn provided momentum and substance for whatever followed in an issue of the magazine because Garvey never hesitated to wrestle with some of the most challenging and intractable topics of the day, and did so with a rich pastoral sensitivity, and a refreshing and rare intelligence. Only Wonder Comprehends gleans from John Garvey’s many contributions to Commonweal that reflect his spiritual depth and deep appreciation of history, politics, theology, and culture. Steeped in the Christian tradition, Garvey loved to write and, in return, his readers relished what he wrote. It is hoped that this collection of his writings from Commonweal will inspire readers to cultivate a similar sense of attentiveness and commitment, for as the author himself observed, “Religious traditions are meant to transform us, not to affirm us as we are.”
