Enter Toadstool and Spiderlegs. (They crawl on hands and feet from a corner of the room into front of stage, where they get up.) TOADSTOOL. Spiderlegs! SPIDEELEGS. Here I am, master! TOADSTOOL. Are we safe? Look carefully round the room and tell me. Spiderlegs going round the room). It's quite safe, master; they're all gone to bed! TOADSTOOL. How many are gone to bed? SPIDEELEGS. I don't know, master; I didn't see them go! Toadstool angrily). You Brickbat! you Badger! you bandy-legged Baboon! you belligerent Basilisk! SPIDEELEGS. Don't waste my time like that, I've got the knives to clean. What do you want? Toadstool. You beardless Bigot! you beetleheaded Boomerang! you bilious SPIDEELEGS. Very well, if that's all you want to say, I shall go; because I've heard it before, and I really must clean my knives. TOADSTOOL. Stop, I say! How dare you go when I am still talking? SPIDERLEGS. Well, I gave you warning. Besides, if you go shouting like that, you'll wake the people of the house. What do you want in this cottage? TOADSTOOL....
