Never mind, madam, I rather like it, do you know. (Procession goes slowly out of the room; Mother with first, a candle; Bear next; Kosered and Snowwhite, with bunch of keys, last.) Enter Toadstool and Spiderlegs. (They crawl on hands and feet from a corner of the room into front of stage, where they get up.) TOADSTOOL. Spiderlegs! SPIDEELEGS. Here I am, master! TOADSTOOL. Are we safe? Look carefully round the room and tell me. Spiderlegs going round the room). It's quite safe, master; they're all gone to bed! TOADSTOOL. How many are gone to bed? SPIDEELEGS. I don't know, master; I didn't see them go! Toadstool angrily). You Brickbat! you Badger! you bandy-legged Baboon! you belligerent Basilisk! SPIDEELEGS. Don't waste my time like that, I've got the knives to clean. What do you want? Toadstool. You beardless Bigot! you beetleheaded Boomerang! you bilious SPIDEELEGS. Very well, if that's all you want to say, I shall go; because I've heard it before, and I really must clean my knives. TOADSTOOL. Stop, I say! How dare you go when I am still talking? SPIDERLEGS. Well, I gave you warning. Besides, if you go shouting like that, you'll wake the people of the house. What do you want in this cottage? TOADSTOOL....

Alice has a nose for trouble, but luckily she's a fairy--a Temporary Fairy. She has a magic wand, fairy wings, and a blanket, all of which she uses to disappear, to fly, to transform her dad into a horse, and to turn his cookies into her own! There are still a few things Alice needs to learn to become a Permanent Fairy, like how to float her dog on the ceiling and make her clothes put themselves away, but she's working on it--sort of. Here's an endearing, funny story about a girl and her magical imagination, sure to delight every fairy in training!
