Ambient Intelligence In Health Care

The book is a collection of research papers presented at the First International Conference on International Conference on Ambient Intelligence in Health Care (ICAIHC 2021) organized by Institute of Technical Education and Research, Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (Deemed to be University) University, Bhubaneswar, India, during April 15–16, 2022. It includes papers in the research area of e-health care, telemedicine, other medical technologies, life support systems, fast detection and diagnoses, developed technologies and innovative solutions, bioinformatics, and solutions for monitoring smart intelligent systems in health care.

This book constitutes the refereed conference proceedings of the First International Conference on Ambient Intelligence for Health, AmIHEALTH 2015, held in Puerto Varas, Chile, in December 2015. The 20 revised full papers and 9 short papers were reviewed and selected from 32 submissions and cover topics on technologies for implementing AmIHealth environments; frameworks related with AmIHealth environments; applied algorithms in e-Health systems; interactions within the AmIHealth environments; applications and case studies of AmIHealth environments; and metrics for health environments.

The world's population is aging dramatically, and in most countries the cost of care is rising rapidly. We need a system which helps to minimize the onset of chronic conditions which are costly to treat and diminish quality of life, rather than one primarily directed towards the care of the sick. Innovative use of new technologies may be the only way to provide care affordably in future, and to scale that care to far greater numbers as our societies adapt to change. Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) can provide a solution. More integration between the health system and life at home and work will benefit everybody, providing better, more holistic lifelong care at lower cost.
